Guess your day would have been a lot easier and a lot more exciting if you'd had a game to go to.

I've been helping Mr LTF with some DIY today, not the best of days as it's been so hot, not great when you have heavy tasks to complete.
The thought of being in the shops on a Saturday fills me with dread, not my idea of a well spent Saturday, I would only head into town for a game or to socialise on a weekend.

went to Gateshead to see the Heed play Dartford, who had won their previous four games
pretty even game in the first half with Gateshead huffing and puffing with about 7 corners and lots of the ball.
Unfortunately a lot of Gatesheads final ball ended up in the air where Dartford's big lads just mopped up all the high balls.
Gateshead first goal became when ex Toon player Ryan Donaldson drove into the box and fired a hard and low cross across the sixyard line
which was swept into the back of the net, to much relief of the Heed support
second half was a different matter, where the Heed took complete control of the game
Donaldson was was excelling, and a lot of Gateshead's good play was going through him,
although he was substituted late on (don't know why)
Jamie Chandler won the sponsors man of the match but the person who caught my eye was the centre half Chris Bush
he just looked a different class of player than all the rest
Tall guy, cool under pressure and was spraying the ball all over the park to the feet of the other Gateshead players
from the back, thought he dominated Dartfords forwards

    It finished 2-0 to Gateshead
all in all a quite enjoyable game of football

Interesting, Bush was poor against Lincoln, mind you that Chandler looked a cracking player for the Conference.

I think Donaldson's from Pelaw, just a stepping stone from the ground. I thought he had a good game in him when I first saw him but it seems he went off the lines a little bit with the demon drink. No doubt led astray be some of the senior players.

Pity really, he could have maybe been playing for us and earning a boatload more that he does now.

I take your word for it,

but today he looked different class
I was talking with the Dad of one of the players and he said the same as me regarding Bush
Chandler did a lot of running and closing down, but I thought Donaldson was the more creative

Must just have caught him on an off day, mind you the conditions were horrendous and may have had an effect on him. Clark was below par that day as well. Donaldson should be one of the star players at that level. Looking at the Gateshead page on soccerbase think I may have got Bush confused with the right back Magnay.

Bush is a big well built Black guy number16
Magnay on the other hand is a skinny white guy number 2

    I understand your confusion <laugh>

To be fair I knew one defender was especially rubbish, was thinking it was the centre half and not the right back.

Magnay didn't have the best of 1st halfs
he slipped about 3 times while with the ball (must of been the watering of the pitch)
and his passing was poor on a couple of occasions

he did pick up and played a lot better second half though
