All I can do is laugh. Well done Michael, once again outshining the wonderkid Nico late into the 2012 season. Who would have thought it. P4. Does anybody know if Mercedes sacrificed Quali for race pace? Well done to Lewis and Jenson, and also a special congrats to Felipe and Di-Resta (cannot help think where Hulk would have qualified though). Commiserations Mr.Alonso, pull that prancing horce through the field like you deserve to.
Two DRS zones and they are one of the slowest in a straight line, could be very hard for him. I heard on sky that they are 10mph slower than the Lotus who were only just faster than Mercedes and Mclaren in a straight line.
Of course, but Seb should be faster when fuel goes in as he would be the guy who hits the limiter sooner when against a guy who geared himself with light fuel. He would have to get them within 12-15 laps or he wont have no chance after that.
I would assume Mercedes sacrificed qualifying for race pace on the basis that if they used the extra downforce that the DDRS would give them the ability to use then their tyres would get shredded.
Agree, Alonso will finish on the podium if he's telling the truth about how he would have gone half a second quicker than Lewis's pole time. I just don't want it to happen because I want a real close and 2010-type title finish.
It's 9km/h, so he could possibly pass with DRS if the car in front doesn't have it available. The first stint will be tough, I don't expect him to make up places to be honest, it's critical that he passes Schumacher early if he's going to have any chance. Maybe he's regretting signing for Mercedes next season after seeing how quick the McLaren is. please log in to view this image
Now it COULD work for them if they can widen the mediums' operating window enough and get a good pace without the DDRS.
Yeah your probably right, cheers tomtom, Silver and yourself. Hahaha... hmmm actually thinking about it you may be right.
no lewis is just not in complete trust of his team. he's probably thinking, what are they going to do tomorrow?make me change my clutch settings at the last second. or maybe theyll mess up another pitstop to get jenson ahead. you notice how martin didnt look as happy as he did last week when jenson got pole.
Yes I did notice that with Martin, but take no offence to this, Hamilton is acting a little spoilt. The situation he is in is fantastic, he should savor the moment. Life is short, he may be on the unreliable/unlucky side of things this year, but he is just too expectant in various situations. Also I don't think he will move to Mercedes now Mclaren have the balance right.
He probaly knows deep down his team will somehow screw his race up tommorow. If he wins i'm confident we will see a much happier Lewis.
Hamilton always acts spoilt. He is one of the most frustrating drivers/sportman I've ever seen. Almost becoming like Ronnie O'Sullivan so much talent yet for some reason(s) can't apply it enough.
As long as he isnt as much of a **** as O'Sullivan I couldnt care how he acts. Comparing Hamilton and O'sullivan is like comparing Button and Hamilton. Even Max Mosely isnt as bad as RoS
How can people be so blinkered as to genuinely believe the things like this? Mclaren have no reason at all to force Button in front of Hamilton. Even if they did then their current "methods" as you describe risk dropping Hamilton behind not only Button but other drivers as well which affects Mclaren's tilt at the constructors' championship. Mclaren have messed up Button's pitstops as well this season. Presumably that's deliberate too, to cover up the fact they're deliberately sabotaging Hamilton's race, out of their crippling fear of having two successful drivers. Martin looked delighted at Spa because Button's dominance was completely unexpected and Mclaren's first pole in ages to boot. It's obviously going to provoke a different reaction this weekend. Believe it or not, deliberately sabotaging their drivers' chances is not in Mclaren's best interests and there is not some kind of conspiracy to knock Hamilton down. If Whitmarsh wanted rid of Hamilton he's had four seasons to terminate his contract. Mclaren are sometimes clumsy and foolish when they attempt to help their drivers (the clutch settings example) but people claiming there is some kind of conspiracy are ridiculous.
