He's still very young of course but the way the press fawn over him makes me want to retch up my phlegm.

Wish the press would start fawning over some young foreign players, might turn them **** aswell and give us a chance in tournaments.

Rooney is a fat, bald scouse ****er, with a high self opinion way above his actual ability.

That lad Oxley Chamberlain showed far more technique, vision, pace and overall ability in 60 mins last night than Rooney has in the last 3 tournaments.

**** the ugly fat heeded knob imo.

His outburst at the South Africa WC finished me kidda.

Instead of apologising for being utter shat to the 1000's that had spent a kings ransom to get there to support England, he chose to abuse them on live TV.

The bloke has no class and irritates the **** out of me. He is a very good EPL player but wouldnt be able to hack it in a better technical league and isn't a world class international as he and the sycophantic English press would have us all believe. Defoe is a far better striker and Chamberlain a better quality number 10.

I much preferred watching a young England side with Welbeck, Chamberlain and Cleverley in it. Stick Wiltshire in there when he is fit and I may well get excited about team England again.

Rooney is a good player when he can be arsed and a world class player when he isn't doing his headless chicken routine and, trying to clatter the opposition out of the game. He is always looking to blame someone else for his failures, the England fans at SA and lately us for doing a Poznan on the last day of the season as a bit of a wind up. No mention of the fact that we took 4 points off City to give Utd a hand and they didn't win the title because they didn't score enough goals wonder who that is down to now?
My personal opinion is the bloke is a tool and, if I had the money he had I'd have gone to a 21st Century barber/hair bloke and not the pre WW2 one he went with.

I can quite honestly say I have never seen Rooney give a 'world class' performance and when you look at other nations 'best players', Rooney is way, way down the list.

As I have said, he is a very good EPL player but nowhere near world class (imo of course). In fact I'd even say at times he looks out of his depth at international level and that shows through in the frustrations he conveys on the pitch. I look at the lad Falcao the other night who makes Rooney look like Tom Ritchie (see earlier thread today lol), not to mention Ronaldo, Messi and any one of 3 or 4 Germans, Belgians, French, Portuguese, Italians etc etc.

Saw him when he first started at Everton and he looked very good then scored a wonder goal against Arsenal and that was it he was king etc. He played against us a few weeks later and he did nowt he does show the odd flash of good play even world class play for me but, is far too inconsistent for a top top international player. Think SAF should have called his bluff when he threw a strop about wages and sold him instead of backing down, whether SAF had any say in that is debatable mind. In my opinion he was over ruled by the owners as Rooney sells shirts money talks I suppose.

Absolutely spot on with this - i think Rooney is the modern day John Barnes - spot on for club, total and utter ****e for country. I was dismayed when he started over Caroll after the Sweden game. Caroll gave a pretty decent performance than night IMHO but had to be dropped because king Rooney was back, shocking decision and one of the only few Hodgson has got wrong in his tenure as England boss.

The thing is shields we will beat alot more without him. However I don't think Hodgson sees it like that. But for our national team it is Hodgson we must trust and it irks me that regarding Rooney I don't trust Hodgson.

I don't think it'a all down to Hodgson who plays for England, I think the FA have too much to say about that. If the FA had a set of nuts between them then they tell anyone who complains of being tired or who won't play to their full potential when we all know they can, that they won't play for England again!, I would be more than happy to tell them all that.
