Clyne didn't come off the bench. JWP started and is still on after 62 minutes, Germany are 3-1 up though.
Alexander Kerzhakov has said he's never heard of Northern Ireland, and Fabio Capello says "it's only Northern Ireland, so we should be fine" when adked about a lack of fit strikers. To which, Gareth McAuley has said he's "never heard of Kerzhakov". Nice little exchanges going between us and the Ruskies.
I believe it's in Moscow, that's where our newscrews have been reporting from anyway. So yeah, anything other than a defeat will be a minor miracle. I would say we have more chance to win under Michael O'Neill than we would have done under Nigel Worthington.
Northern Ireland's starting line-up away to Russia: Carroll, Hughes, McAuley, J.Evans, Cathcart, Baird, Davis, C.Evans, Brunt, Ward, Lafferty. Kicks off in 20 minutes I think.
I'd definitely pick Defoe. Hart Walker Cahill Terry Cole Chamberlain Carrick Lampard Johnson Defoe Welbeck
Northern Ireland have definitely got a chance of finishing 2nd in that group. You beat most teams at home. Portugal won't get lucky this time. They got lucky in the last two qualifying campaigns. Anyone know if the Uruguay game is on TV?
Colombia v Uruguay should be showing here: http://www.thefirstrow.eu/watch/139409/1/watch-fifa-wcq:-colombia-vs-uruguay.html
Doubt we'll play 442 with so few strikers. It's pretty pointless anyway when neither striker is much of a ball player/target man. Johnson is injured and Cole isn't in the squad. Gerrard is captain, so he'll play. -------------------Hart------------------- Walker-----Cahill-----Terry-----Baines -----------------Carrick------------------ ----------Gerrard-----Cleverly---------- Walcott--------------------Chamberlain -----------------Defoe------------------- Something like that is probably more likely. I reckon we'll beat Moldova fairly comfortably, but there's no hiding from the fact that that's not a very good team, even when you throw in Rooney.
