With our present shortage of midfielders at the club this surprised me... I think he would definitely benefit from regular football but was hoping it would be with us this season rather than being loaded out. Here is what Big Maart had to say⦠âKasami is a youngster and if everyone is sound and well he won't start, he knows that. âThat's a bit of a problem with him because he wants to play all the time. âI feel he should do a bit better and push for a starting place but he's not there yet. I think he could benefit from a loan spell.â http://www.fulhamchronicle.co.uk/fulham-fc/2012/09/06/82029-31784653/?
Well we must be bringing players in if he's going to let Kasami go on loan. Maybe he means in January?
I reckon the opposite and that Jol wants to see what Kasami is capable of doing when playing regularly so that he (Jol) has a better idea of how many to buy in January. Kasami played for the Swiss U21s last night. I can only go on paper reports and while he seems to have been okay, some of the issues I have with him were apparent - one paced, lack of vision and ponderous on the ball. As I said in another thread, I'd love to see the younger players get a chance. However, Jol sees them all the time and I'll bow to his judgement.
Also a valid point. You know, if Big Mart, Ali Mac and Mo all posted on this forum things would be a lot clearer - but then, we'd have nothing to talk about!
I'm increasingly unsure about Kasami. Didn't we spend £4m on him last Summer? He looked promising in a few games early last season, particularly against weaker opposition in the Europa League, but I'd expected much more immediate impact from a player who'd played 20 odd games in Serie A the previous season. His development seems to have stalled at Fulham, and one or two of Jol's comments have suggested there may be a little bit of an attitude problem with him. Maybe he just needs a run of games to get up to speed, in which case a loan move to a Championship club would be a good option - there would be a recall clause so we can get him back at 24 hours notice if necessary.
Wasn't he the guy who insisted on taking a penalty and missed it? After that he fell out of favour? Or was that another player? If it was him, that could have been a turning point. Of course, if it wasn't, sorry for wasting your time with useless waffle.
No, that's the fella. I still have hope for him. He needs a proper run in the first team before we write him off - the last time he did he played very well. A loan spell or two would be good for him. He's only 19, remember!
