Afraid one decent win isn't going to repair the damage he's done to himself in the eyes of the fans.

I always said give him until the end of the season, I'd be inclined to give him a season to show actual improvement.

Are you speaking for all fans here, because I'm sure there are more fans than me whose loyalty towards Bruce hasn't wavered during our bad run..I still feel that Bruce is in the process of building a decent team, which has undoubtedly been hampered this season with a mixture of bad luck and injuries.

Not to go 12 games without a win... Pretty much what every football fan expects.

These things happen, what was your aim at the start of the season?

Top half finish and not to collapse like we did last season.

I mean what did you expect before the start of the season? You're not exactly going to get in the Champions League are you, and with teams like Liverpool, Spurs, Everton, Villa, Man City to compete with, the UEFA Cup is a bit of a stretch as well.

As I've already said... Top half finish and not to collapse like we did last season.

Elaborate... Why's the Uefa Cup a stretch considering Birmingham and Stoke will be in it next year?

Well given that Birmingham have paid for their cup run with a relegation battle, which if they lost would offset most of the money earned from European football, I'd say that's not a good comparison! I'm just talking about the league.

Ok then why would it be a stretch to comprehend Sunderland finishing 7th?

Did we not start the season having spent quite a bit of money over consecutive summers?

Did we not start the season with one of the most prolific premier league scorers over the last five years and several players who lit up the world cup?

Are our crowds not generally bigger than most other premier league teams outside what is now an established top six?

No, it wouldn't be too much to expect a shot at finishing 7th, but it shouldn't be expected that it WILL happen is my point. I'm not sying you all expected to finish 7th, just that if you don't end up in Europe then the manager shouldn't be held accountable.

PLUS, now that Bent has left, you should realise that the club is going to struggle for goals (didn't he score 50% of your league goals last season )

tbh when the manager spends 50 million over two years you will expect a comfortable top ten finish, and without our shocking run we would be in the European places, not saying I want him out, but I do think if the opportunity came along to sign a top-class manager we should.

I say give him another season to prove what he can do, but we can't let ourselves forget our terrible run of form.
