After the mass exodus in the summer with most of the squad walking away, do you think there is any of them that could ever be accepted back into the team. I know football fans can be fickle but I'm struggling to think of any that would be accepted back into the fold maybe in a few years time. To be honest I respect the likes of Naismith and Whittaker to a certain degree for coming out, holding a press conference and telling the fans they were moving on. Didn't exactly agree with the way they put it but at least they were able to give their opinion on the matter. What irked me more was the players that just vanished not wanting anything to do with the club again.
Football is a mercenary game, you rarely get a player who is willing to make a sacrifice to remain at a club, so for that reason I think you should rename Murray Park as "Jigs Jinormous Jym"
I think a lot of them would not even be welcome back as supporters not like wee Nacho and Lovenkrands who sat in with the fans.
apart from not playing in Div 3 they can probably make more money in any division in England than they can here, and even some of those foreign leagues are now paying much higher than any Scottish club can afford. good luck to the players who left and better luck to the players who are still at Ibrox.
You can't blame a lot of them for moving on but I thought that the younger lads would stay on board and make a name for themselves. Look at the likes of Danny Wilson, in my opinion he left us too early. Think he's played twice for Liverpool and is now being shipped out to Blackpool on loan again. He could return back and make a name for himself or he could stay with Blackpool and make his name there but I don't think it was the right move for us or for the lad's football career.
In fairness to those guys, they stayed with Rangers until the very end. You can't blame these guys for not playing along with your ridiculous charade.
What about this guy? please log in to view this image I know he was a filthy half-breed and all but he banged the goals in
I was a bit disappointed in guys like McCabe, Fleck etc as you can't really expect established internationals to ply their trade in Div 3. ....they went to Sheffield and Coventry.....not exactly what I would class as furthering your career.
To be honest the one that annoyed me was Naisy. I totally understand why he had to leave and I know he took a wage cut. For me the fact that he was a Rangers fan and the club had supported him through two seasons when he was crocked should have been enough for him to transfer his contract over. He could still have left at a reduced fee and allowed us to pay back some of the money we owed other Scottish clubs. I am pretty sure that he would have easily found a new club even if there was the matter of a transfer fee (albeit reduced).
Can't really blame the players they took a wage cut of millions of pounds to save the club and were blatantly lied to. To ask them to give the club more money is just cheeky.
