http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/2896...ter-financial-controls-in?source=breakingnews Presumably most people are for FFP, but would it be to the detriment of the Premier League? Would it go back to being just Man Utd winning the title every year?
ManU have done very well, thank you very much, while there has been no restriction on spending, and now that they've fallen behind in the financial pecking order they want restrictions to be placed on the PL. Well, I happen to agree with them, but don't think for one milli-second that they are calling for restrictions for the good of the game. It's all for their interests alone.
Only the 'richest' club would ever propose such an idea Edit - By rich I mean revenue, not investment.
Thank **** Wheelan's not our chairman. Nothing worse than the person running the club crying out for media/any attention. Whenever i doubt Nicola i just look at alternatives and this is a perfect one to make me trust Nicola.
With the interminable boredom of the international break imposed upon us, I thought a little Southampton FC study might be just the right thing. Yes, we've all seen this, but it's time for a little booster. And so appropriate too - from 2010. The one at the bottom is the video to watch: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/s/southampton/9269293.stm
My favourite video . They should make another interview.I love Cortese reactians when Dan Roan asks who was in charge of the club when Markus was alive and who is in charge now after Markus had passed away (R.I.P).Epic reaction
Believe me, I've looked. Yes, they should do an update. Yes, superb reaction. Nicola has ALWAYS been in charge. EDIT: The funny thing is... even to this day ,some Saints supporters think this is Liebherr's club. It's a Cortese club, with Liebherr money backing it, and always has been.
Poor Dan Roan, he got all nervous and worried . Cortese is a legend.I don't think some people understand just how special he is.They should see his stubborn attitude, that is his ambitious side.
Yep. The day he turned his attention to this club, and thought... I want to take that club and make it successful... the ambitions for SFC skyrocketed like never before. As to Dan Roan - visions of horse's heads, maybe..?
I think that Nicola really likes Nigel, I just hope that he doesn't sack him, that would be sad. When Cortese was asked whether he thought that they would get into the Premier League by 2014 and Dan Roan said, "Realistic, do you believe you will achieve this?" and Cortese said "Oh yes.Yeah.Yes." Brilliant.
Yep, I loved the confidence back then when I first watched it and I love it now. I do sometimes wonder what he's had to change in his plans to accommodate the success that has arrived ahead of schedule. He must have done something. He was budgeting for PL in 5 years. It arrived in 3. I have also wondered whether he's pleased Saints got here early or whether he would have preferred consolidation and building in the Championship first. I don't want it either, but he may have to sack Nigel. If it's for the good of the club, and all that. I don't think he will. Adkins will sort them out.
