Asking you as a believer a question. i will repeat the gist of it. A what point would you start to think perhaps LUST have been played by one or other or both sides of the TO?
I understand your question but dont see the need for a constant dig at Gary Cooper. Hes working tirelessly all free of charge for the good of the club and its supporters. As frustrating as it is for all of us I dont think anyone else in Gary position would do a better job. If I was him I would think why bother sometimes with all the **** he's had thrown at him on a personal level.
So why can't you explain your constant pathetic demeaning comments about Lust. They've got off their arses and tried to do their best for their 8000 members. Explain exactly what you have done?
I am just not sure what job he or they are actually doing. Just because someone does something free of charge doesnt mean they are doing it for nothing. Eatinng at the top table and having a profile could be seen as reward. its now 21.30 on d day and we have nada. So how many more promises of a new dawn are YOU prepared to listen to before you accept that the LUST approach might not be working. Me i now just want to get back to watching footie and if Bates has won for now thats tough. Infact all I ever wanted to do was watch footie, if I wanted politics I would watch the parliament channel.
So has Gary Cooper and he has ploughed all his spare time into answering fans questions, investigating the clubs books organising meetings with stewards and the police whilst doing his day job and raising a young family. I see your point though. It wouldn't surprise me if Bates moved the goal posts every time LUST claimed something would break just to make them look like idiots and divide the fans some more. The evil bastard will keep swinging until he is put down and then I wouldn't be surprised in a few years time if it turns out he has shafted us for some of his building work hes sanctioned over the years.
Update from Ben Jacobs @ 21:45... Ben Jacobs ‏@JacobsBen Right, I can now tell you 1) no statement will be released tonight from the buyers 2) nothing has been signed today. I can also tell you no legal contract is yet to be drafted and, as said before, prospective buyers are losing patience. I cannot speak for the seller, but my buyer-source hopes for a resolution one way or the other ASAP. No details of today's meeting have been given, I can't answer on sticking points or if talks are/will continue. All I got told is "no news will be forthcoming today" & "no contract is yet in place". There'll be no announcement until one is drawn up or the parties decide to walk. Fri/Sat likely for closure. Like I say, that's the phone call I've had from buying side. Can't answer too many questions since I've been told no more at this stage. Addition @ 22:11 ... One extra clarification: of course there is legal paperwork, but what he meant, I think, by "no contract drafted" is no 'final paperwork'
Ah sure we are used to this scenario anyway. Looks like we will have to get promoted the hard way. MOT
I'm afraid I completely disagree with you. It succinctly summarises the end of negotiating day position and makes it perfectly clear where we are with it all. That's thebest you can hope for at this stage. Are you expecting minutes from the meeting or something?
There is nothing in it to believe. it covers every possible scenario and is therefore statement of the obvious. Again I say it would be better to say nowt till there is something to say. Not falling out just pissed off with pointless speculating.
Some people just want to switch off their brains with regard to football and support the team. Fine if they want to do that. But don't demean the people who want to support the CLUB, who see that Leeds United as an entity is about more than just a team of players, and want to keep their minds firmly in gear. People like Gary Cooper.
Chippie with all due respect for every 1 fan that is prepared to wait for solid info (which you appear to be) theres 10,000 others constantly pressuring GC and Lust to let them know anything from a car reg number to if bates is actually at home. Maybe some of the hostility should be aimed at the people asking too much rather than the bloke bending over backwards to help them (which the club haven't done by any stretch of the imagination) Gary Cooper is dammed if he do and damned if he dont. Divide and conquer which is the standard script for Batey so fair play kenny boy you've done it again.
I'll probably get stick from various angles for saying this and he and many of you know my opinion on East Yorkshire people 'choosing' a club instead of being proper football fans, but although it pains me, I can honestly say I very much doubt a fans group could get a more able and determined person at the helm than Gary. Support Gary and look forward to the future with the new consortium. I understand the dream team includes Sulaiman Al Fahim, Vladimir Antonov, Balram Chainrai and the Venkys and they are eager to start.
