Another clean sheet for Amos, and presumably no injury as he wasn't subbed.

No injury. Very strong England U21 side which included Tom Ince, Marvin Sordell, Wilfred Zaha, Shelvey and Henderson from Liverpool. Good 2-0 win with Caulker and Shelvey getting the goals.

England there final group 8 game @ home(Chesterfield) on monday 10th sept. May take a trip over to see it.

Its over now but keep an eye on SSN for some highlights. Also the FA website may have something as well. Match report www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/19508363

Interesting that the attendance in Azerbaijan was only 214. oh dear.

Never easy to go to these places, so a good win and a clean sheet for Amos, though I don't think he had a lot to do.

I'm really impressed by Amos so far. He hasn't had to make a lot of flying saves or anything so far, but his general class when coming for crosses and making saves is so immediately obvious. He doesn't let go of anything. I think he might be a really top keeper before long.

I like his command of the aerial ball in the box. he is proof that a keeper doesn't have to try to catch everything to rule his area.

You know my views on his brilliant punching....

But he has improved in just the few weeks he has been here, his distribution in the first couple of games wasn't great but on Saturday you could see the improvement in his game, definately got premier league blod in his vains.

Me too but also the way he holds onto diving saves that some keepers would parry. Often it looks good when a keeper dives across and palms the ball away but Amos holds onto it whenever possible. Just seems really skillful to me. From the early signs, he's making me think the same kind of things I think about Chester - that being brought up at Man United has obviously taught him things that most players don't learn.

He certainly does look to be a good prospect, and if SAF sees Manonne comments about his time with us, then that will only help our cause for the future with Man U.

Very true ^^^^ John but maybe SAF is already aware of that. Its a big season for the 2 main Man Utd keepers De Gea and Lindegaard as they have still to convince. I was surprised that SAF did not make a move for that French keeper Hugo Lloris Spurs have just signed up from Lyon. But with AMOS Working with ex. Man Utd GK Gary Walsh looks to be working well as did Vito last season. It will be interesting to see what happens with Ben Amos in the summer especially IF Hull City are back in the PL. TWT.

To quote a former England GK legend.."""If you cannot catch the ball - PUNCH IT.""

:emoticon-0100-smile He may have done but not the legend i was meaning. <eek> I.H. was a great leg-end though. To think he replaced Tony Norman in our goal. Almost as bad as Sonko replacing Michael Turner. <yikes>

Nothing wrong with punching the ball as you say, as long as you get the distance.

Amos looks a top keeper - the only criticism I would have of him was that he seemed a little slow to get down to two of the goals at Donny in the LC.

From the interview on TigersPlayer with Burnsy he is certainly not lacking in the confidence stakes as he believes he can improve his game being on loan to challenge the top two keepers at Manure.

Man United generally keep their young players on one year deals, just to make sure they always get a fee for them.

They've just signed Amos until 2015, I don't think they've any intention of letting him go.
