Great article on the Swans......Click n read. âWho the f**k is Brendan Rodgers?â â The Evolution of âSwanselonaâ
Really enjoyed reading that, you can see the influence laudrup has made this season. We have scored 10 goals in 3 games, how long did it take us to do that last season ?
Rodgers then reneged on an agreement. Go figure. Deserves credit for the promotion though. Signing Sinclair was the key imo. To say it was our players alone is just wrong. If that's the case why have a manager at all? Great article and a must read for anyone who has even a passing interest in how far we've come. He should have devoted a little more to Sousa though, as we couldn't defend under Martinez.
Yankee if you take that argument to its logical conclusion then Laudrup desreves no credit for our opening three games. An excellent, detailed article and BR rightly deserves his place in our club's history. Just think we need to rein ourselves in a bit as there is a long way to go. But certainly a fantastic start.
Agreed, Brendan needs credit and respect for what he did for us..... Why is it that whenever anyone moves on they get slated - he had a an opportunity which he wanted to pursue, yes I was gutted at the time, but have to wish the guy well.... New chapter now and so far so good...
Swansman, i dont think it is so much he moved, which i actually dont blame him for. I think what has angered me was comming back in for our players, when he specifically said he wouldnt, ensuring by his comments that Sigudson didnt come, Saying that it may be a good thing as we now have Michu.
You're right TLF, but there were many on here slagging Rodgers off the second he said he was going. "Never liked him anyway" was the classic from one contributor. Like you, I didn't turn against him until the Allen affair.
Very good read indeed, Laudrup has given us back our purpose of playing football, and that is to score goals, something that we have missed from time to time, particularly after Jason Scotland left, and Bodde got injured, what an opening day at QPR aye, how good that felt!.............
We got 15m for Allen, so we should actually be thanking Rodgers. It is Rodgers leaving, and taking Allen with him, that has enabled has to move forward. We have had a fantastic start without either Rodgers, Allen or the backroom staff that left. We don't need them. They served us well, but have done us a huge favor by leaving.
Apparently our ex leader has been at it again. In a recent interview on Liverpool tv he was bigging up Vorm and mentioned him throughout the interview. Expect a bid in January.
I agree things have turned out very well, Casual and we should be glad both went. The back-room staff were agreed by Jenkins and were crap anyway. But that doesn't make the breaching of the agreement right. It was breached by the original bid of £12.5M as neither criteria had been met (Allen was not for sale and no approach had been made by another club). It is pretty unequivocal that the agreement was breached at that point. Rodgers then made Allen 'for sale' by triggering the release clause. This was legal but against the spirit of the agreement as he knew we wanted to keep our better players. It's fantastic that Jenkins has worked his magic again and we're even better as a result but I can't forgive Rodgers for trying to shaft us. It doesn't occupy my every waking tought as I'm far more concerned about my own team but I certainly hope the ****er crashes and burns - not for leaving but for his behaviour afterwards. If Vorm has a release clause expect a bid for that amount.
Well if he comes in for him, it will just confirm what a underhanded snake in the grass he is, not happy with unsettling and tapping up Allen he wants to do it again with Vorm. Why doesn't he just say he wants to buy the whole ****ing team and give us £150m ?
i think vorm might be happy where he is atm, but come new window might depend on how both sides are travelling, might be an idea to offer a new contract
Like SA8jack says , Rodgers must still be in charge to buy Vorm in January & even if he is still in charge the Americans might not trust Rodgers with any transfer funds by then .
The fact that we got 15 million for Allen doesn't make it right. Most of us were gutted when Rogers left, and most understood and wished him well, but he pissed on his chips when he came back for Allen after promising he wouldn't. I appreciate what Rogers done for us in helping us to promotion, but he didn't do it himself so we don't owe him everything just because he was the man at the helm when we achieved. We were banging on the door of the play offs the 2 seasons before, Rogers added to what we had by bringing Sinclair in and took us that step further. He's not the only man in the world who could have done that. I don't care about Rogers now and have never liked Liverpool anyway, but I'll always wish Allen all the best
