    Very strange...

Usain Bolt is serious. Sir Alex Ferguson is intrigued.

So there’s a chance that the world’s fastest Manchester United fan plays for his team, if only briefly.

“It's interesting he says he'd like to play in a charity game,” Ferguson told Inside United, the club's magazine. “It could be brilliant and next year, when we play Real Madrid's Legends again, there could be opportunities to bring him up and see how he does.”

Bolt, 26, won gold medals in the 100, 200, and 4x100 relay competing for Jamaica in the London and Beijing Olympics. With the Rio Olympics four years away, Bolt has some time on his hands. A United fan, he has visited the team’s Carrington training ground and offered former player Cristiano Ronaldo running tips. Ronaldo has been a bit sad of late. Perhaps this would perk him up.

“He's a bit of a character and a big United fan,” Ferguson said. “The people from these small islands, like Dwight Yorke from Trinidad & Tobago, they all play football and he probably played at school level or youth level or something like that. It'd be nice to get him up here, I think it'll be good.”

He'd make a hell of a football player. Just whack it 70 yards and leg it.

I agree probably get him in a Man u top with DHL on it, I guess would make a good advert for the courier company, and make Bolt a lot more money.

He gets on my tits does Bolt.

All he can do is run a bit quick over a few yards and he acts like he's some Demigod.

He's a big headed fool and make no mistake.

I haven't timed myself recently but I reckon I'd beat that lanky show off by at least ten yards.

I'd then celebrate by punching him right in his smug face just as he was doing that stupid pose he does.

In fact he wouldn't be doing his "'lightning' pose because he'd have come second so it would be a regulation right hander into his boat race just as he crossed the line.

    That'd learn him.

Erik you bell cheese. How do you know he's darker than me?

    Answer me that one.

The Dunlops are away until the weather turns. They are, essentially, an autumn/ winter slipper and therefore would not be considered.

I'd get out my Hi Tec silver shadows.

    No ****ing contest.

Bolt needs to learn how to run that fast with the ball at his feet first. But for a Charity game then why not ? SAF obviously has not ruled it out.

If it's just a charity stunt they might as well dress him like a clown and fire him out of a ****ing cannon! ( without the net ) I'd pay to see that!

Nah mate I'm into Grange Hill retro at the moment and not in a trendy Jimmy 'Serio Tacchini' McLaren kind of way.

More like fat Alan ' me Mam and Dad are dole bums' Humphries sylee.

With that said it'd be a pair of Mitre market specials.
Nylon school slacks. A ski jumper and a brown snorkel parker.
