If the word you used had any relevance then it would have been correct to use it, swearing is not going to enhance your post so why use words that have no meaning in the context.

 

i am not being negative towards saints, i am begining to see why so much is made on here of people being negative, half the time they arn't. IMHO we should of signed atleast 1 centre back before the end of august and in not doing so Adkins is under more pressure than he needs to be.

Why would Cortese lose faith in Adkins after failing to get another defender? Cortese has more involvement in transfers than Adkins... I really don't understand how that point makes any sense.

 

Adkins and the recruitment team bring up the players they are interested in, but Cortese does the negotiations with clubs and agents. We know Cortese plays hardball and also I'd be unsurprised if he was involved in some very short conversations when he heard the demands. To suggest that people at the club have been blind to our shortcomings or not trying to address them is ridiculous.

 

You're probably right and for all we know Adkins was desperately trying to get midfield and defence shored up during August but it didn't come off.

I was completely gutted when we lost the Man matches in the final minutes but the lads played great football for a large part of the games. In the Wigan game if we had converted our chances in the first half we would have been out of sight midway through the second.

Adkins is under pressure but not entirely of his own making. The early season fixtures we landed would probably have seen a lot of PL sides sitting at the bottom with no points. Given the 2 fantastic seasons Adkins has steered us through I reckon we owe him and the lads a little more than three games in the PL to show us what they can do.

 

I agree - we have let in 6 goals against the top 2 teams - and nearly won both of them...what a deranged person gomarchingin seems to be...

We don't know how many CB's we tried to sign or how close we came. I do think that letting Aaron Martin go out on loan before getting someone in was a mistake, however we don't know if someone was lined up but the deal feel through. Maybe a lesson learned in that we have to get players in and signed before letting others leave in that position.

What we all need is football action, it's criminal to have International breaks, only the real thing counts.

 

I would rather have a good attack than a good defence, most teams that get relegated have the problem of not being able to score. You are gonna ship goals to the big teams no matter what, its scoring against them thats the hard part and we have done that so cheer up!

 

Great point! This squad will always score goals so we will win more than we lose. If we do that we will stay up! Simples!

Not saying you are being negative - I believe we tried and failed to sign an additional CB other than Yoshida.

 

Absolutely certain that we tried to sign CBs because we let Martin go early in window. You don't always get what you want...look at Liverpool releasing a striker and then not signing a replacement. The players we wanted may have had a choice of clubs and then didn't choose Saints for a variety of reasons which may include money but not necessarily. We are going to play an attacking style which may give us heart in the mouth moments, but will certainly be entertaining.
