I thought Burkinshaw was Newcastle's coach and then ours and took over from Terry Neill, maybe I'm wrong and Clough wasn't at Brighton all that long,I've just looked it up. Anyway it doesn't matter Croydon,Liverpool will continue to struggle whoever they get.
Not sure if this has been posted before, but there are some astute comments being made, here. I post this as an unbiased commentary on a apposite subject of this thread. http://youtu.be/0l2QsNAgh68
I'm a season ticket holder at Liverpool and theres not one LFC fan who isn't a plastic or armchair who isn't 100% behind Rodger's and doesn't also realise that where going to have to be very patient for a couple of seasons possibly, not a couple of games. The problem is nowadays with things like the internet and phone ins they give a very loud platform for all the plastic daytripping fans who don't know the first thing about being a proper Liverpool supporter and their the twats who get seen and heard by other fans unfortunately. The only people LFC fans who aren't dickheads are unhappy with is FSG for not giving Rodger's, who is their first real 'man', the resources he needs to at least have a respectable campaign whilst the players and fans learn to implement his plan. However, I think the message has been sent loud and clear to Boston and with the SOS Supporters Union mobilising now I think we'll see a big effort in January from FSG to prove they will have the cash and will back the Manager.
Reasonable comments Toeala. I think in particular the second paragraph applies to a lot of teams. Remember also we're the ones that have "fans" booing our team, and have a special section "AVB Doesn't Have A Clue" on TalkCrap after three games! I also think that your team suffers because other teams think that certain elements of the media and some fans seem to think your club has some kind of entitlement to a high PL finish that is not borne out by facts. I don't believe it's true of all or even a majority of fans, but for whatever reason it seems to be the prevailing opinion and it's bound to wind up fans of other teams.
About the only managers that would've got an easy ride are Guardiola, Lippi, Mourinho, Bacon Face, O'Neill, Hiddink, Low, del Bosque, Prandelli, Ancelotti and maybe Bilic, Klinsmann, or Ledders being given a chance.
I agree. This is where AVBs supposed "pig headedness" might be an advantage. From what i can tell he is getting a lot more **** from the press than, say, Brendan Rodgers. In reality neither deserves to be getting any **** whatsoever at this stage. I hope Brendan has a thick skin also and i hope that both regimes have the balls to back their manager for the long haul The press are all Harry's mates. I wouldn't be surprised if that lot got it in the neck also.
Redknapp made every football journalist's job easy. He would comment on anything and was extremely candid. They have to work a little bit more now, so they're bound to be upset about it.
That lot are probably the only safe options out there - the press are just as matey with MO'N as they werwe with Harry, have a sickening mancrush on Mourinho, get their hearts a'flutter over Guardiola, would certainly give Ancelotti and Hiddink a free pass based on their stints with Chelsea, are clearly neutered into never criticising Bacon Face, whilst the others will get a honeymoon period that Andre clearly isn't.
I don't know about you, but I just couldn't take seriously a teamtalk from Ledderth about Thouthampton or Thwanthea Thity!...and if we ever signed someone called Thithoko (Sissoko)!
Love comments like this, and how many of the other 30k season ticket holders do you talk to every other week from your same seat?
