Oh God, how can this be so hard to get?!!

He got a chance last season and blew it. In fact, he got many chances and was not up to it. Now he has to grow up, work hard and when he's given yet another chance, he should finally prove he's good enough at this level.

That is, until his chances run out of course!

You guys ARE STILL somehow missing the point!!!

That was in the fu*king CHAMPIONSHIP! We're now in the PREMIERSHIP and have been for 16 months!

Forget about that dreadful, nauseating standard of football and realize we're now at a good level and so far Tarbs has been SH*T!

    1. "Produce that little bit of magic" - At what level? Oh you mean like Bothroyd and all those other great NPC players?

    2. "Only had one good season" - Again, at what level? Oh yes, the ChampionSHI*!

    3. "Only had one full playing season" - And why was that? Because he flopped on the big stage!

Adel has been delivering quality football for 2 seasons now mate, both Championship and PL. If you ain't noticed yet, go have a good long kip, and when you wake up try watching them aussie rules, tennis or something.

    OK, here's the thing.

You can't dismiss Taarabt's performance in the Championship by saying others contributed as much towards promotion. He had a hand in something near a goal a game throughout the season - that's something that very few players can offer and almost impossible to buy (even at that level).

It was a lower standard and I completely agree that he has to be judged against the league he's currently in.

Queens - did you say that Granero has already produced? What has he done exactly? Shown promise and made some decent passes. If the criteria for judging AT is goals/assists in the Prem then surely the same applies to the new boy in which case he has amounted to sweet FA (although shown plenty of potential).

Last year, most people, Adel included, had relatively poor seasons (Mackie probably the nearest to consistent alongside Faurlin who only played half of it).

The team was, however, noted for its late run and Adel did play a part in - scoring 2 goals in his last 9 games is decent if not spectacular. His work rate also improved.

He's not great at defending but if he tries then to put in his shift then at least there's some justification in playing him while harbouring the hope that something spectacular or at least consistent can be produced (which, on the basis of 2 from 9 would be a respecable if not sensational 8 per year).

Incidentally, I feel that there is barely anyone who is beyond justifying their transfer but Adel, at £1.5M has done this in buckets.

I still feel that he's gone in Hughes' mind and is unlikely to play a major part again but he will still remain the most skillful player I've seen wearing Hoops (and one that I've enjoyed watching immensely) even if he doesn't do so again and disappears in January.

I also reserve the right to cream myself if he does something rather special with a football.

Yes Queens, I wouldn't like to have a "told you so" thread but I can see why you're so frustrated. The one thing that seems to be lacking on this Board, despite it being populated by a great bunch of lads, is people holding their hands up when they've gotten summat wrong and giving a shout out to others who've been proved correct in something. For example, Roller was a lone voice of dissent when Barton signed and everyone was saying Joey had changed and that he was a great signing. We now see Roller has been proven right in everything he said but not one person has come on and said "you know what, I got it wrong - fair play Roller". It must be a pride thing.

I'd like to add an important qualification to all that I've said about Tarbs (and I think I can speak for Sooper, Queens etc as well):

He's an amazing talent and if somehow he can mature, he could be the greatest player we've had at Rangers since Bowles. There's nothing I'd like more in the World than to be proved wrong about that boy. If he does produce for us, I'll be the first to sing his praises and give credit where its due. I also know why Mack, Col, BOBBY etc love him so much because he had a great Championship season for us and showed glimpses of real quality so I respect where those boys are coming from.

Here's to Tarbs finally getting his career up and running this season. :emoticon-0148-yes:

Wow, this has turned into a two man lick arse fest.

What have the two of them got in common?

You can count on one hand the number of matches they have been to in the past couple of years.

The worst type of criticism comes from armchair experts.

    (A) Matt, every single season there's a bunch of NPC players that bang in the goals and have great seasons. Why would Tarb's great NPC season be hailed any more than say Jay Bothroyd's one for Cardiff the year before last? Or Ricky Lambert's last year?

    (B) I think Queens meant that Granero has proved himself at the top level, IE the Spanish Primera with Real Madrid. A bit better than the English Championship I would say.

All we want is for credit only to be given after the deed has been done, not before.

The rest of your post is spot on Horse.

This is what puts the final nail in your coffin of stupidity! I actually said if that's all he's going to be available for, as MH doesn't trust him away from home then we should have SOLD him in the summer and used the extra funds on someone more suited to MH's style!! T*T......
