After yesterdays highly enjoyable Southampton v. Manchester Utd game, Mr Positive himself Nigel Adkins came out with his usual positive slant on things. He even had humour in one answer to a Geoff Shreeves question. N.A.>>""We are bottom of the league with No points and we must be a strong team as we are holding everyone else up"" Priceless Nigel. The man deserves to succeed and I think and hope he does. So what other famous or memorable post match quotes can you remember from managers past and present ?
Que Keegan's rant. I'll go for Fergie's rant after Aberdeen beat Rangers in the cup- starts about 2:20
Oh go on then i'll post it Got to love a bit of Cloughie
Oh yes. Truth is he is correct. His GK was crap. He even blamed him for losing 3 goals @ Stoke in the cup. What with his clash with former striker Leon Clarke from last season who left for Chesterfield, then last seasons skipper Paul Caddis who is now on a season long loan to Birmingham City and yesterday with GK Wes Froderingham being subbed after 21mins after leaking 2 goals in the first 10mins. . Classic Di Canio. To be fair Di Canio has a point with all 3 and who are they to even question the manager ? Keep em coming Paulo.
I thought Dave Jones' comments on Saturday were pretty laughable. To anyone who didn't see it he was upset with the ref for first allowing Palace a penalty and then changing his mind after consulting the lino. It's bizarre that a decision which eventually went in favour of his own team should anger Jones, but he claimed that by awarding it in the first place the ref "changed the complex of the game." He said the ref was at fault for raising the spirits of the Palace crowd which eventually led to them winning.
Big Ron wants to whip em then does he ? Classic. But Richard Keys is always one for a stupid question at anytime. Yes that Dave Jones was a funny. So who in the crowd actually got the winner then ? Dont you just love a good loser ? Lol.
Di Cannio is a time bomb waiting to happen. We have seem some really bizarre things from him, but sooner or later he is going to pick on the wrong player when he loses his rag and the player will deck him. Now that would be a laugh.
Was Ebbe Skovdahl's famous one in a post match interview? "Statistics are just like mini-skirts, they give you good ideas but they hide the important thing."
Remember Oleg Blokhin ordering a reporter to meet him outside for a scrap during the Euros in the summer? http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...ghost-goal-against-England-is-disallowed.html
I particulary liked the bit where he said he wasn't stupid enough to do a Hull and then got relegated. Total cock.
Still the best
Anyone see the after match interviews with negative Nigel and Angry Ian Holloway on sky last saturday ? Nigel was typical Nigel but Ian Holloway was quite calm considering his team had just been mugged by match Ref. BeachBall Jones.
He's a total bellend and not funny in the slightest, he just seems funny because he has a rural accent and Sky presenters tell us he's funny every week. He isn't, he's a ****. Oh and lose the ****ing bodywarmer. Prick.
Yes I saw it, as you say Nigel is the same dour self, and Ian Holloway was quite relaxed considering when the penalty was given I thought he was going to blow a fuse.
Yes. Plus Blackpool had a better shout for a penalty that Jones did not award near the end. The fact that Holloway stormed off down the tunnel after the whistle was also funny. Nigel P. just stood there with an open mouth (ala Victor Meldrew) waiting to shake his hand. Lol.
