Considering Danger Fox voted for Party and istplt didn't vote for himself it should be him ... shouldn't it?
49 each.. (I used my democratic right.. since I can't in the UK anymore having been resident abroad for over 15 years.. ) So how do we settle this thing.. do they each get a part-time job? not a bad idea .. How about this..? Party one week, ISTPLT the next.. and share the responsibility??
Then they might have cocked that up by not looking at who'd already voted first. Better than it appears to have done. Unless people can see at least 2 invalid votes in ISTPLT's vote then he's won 49-47 on account of the two obvious Leicester votes (Danger and Fallen) in Party's count. First post says same rules as last round, last round said it was City fans and had a clarification that it would mean Hull City fans not fans of any club called City. (we'd need clarification from Mrs Blue about whether her vote this round was a proxy vote for hubby or not as it was discussed in the first round but that would still only make it 48-47) Yeah, someone off the board sits behind me at games (he's told me who he is but I've forgotten now) and I was talking to him about that on Saturday. At first it was to give the admin and supermod time to sort themselves out, then it became amusing to just stick to doing exactly what I said I'd do with it, especially when people suddenly realised that by voting for people in the first round so that they "didn't feel left out" they'd made it so there was a need for a second round. (The 50% plus thing had been discussed on the nominations thread because I'd chipped in about it being a shame the site couldn't handle an AV style vote) Anyway... I'm saying 49-47 to ISTPLT, and as I'm away with work for the next few days I'll leave it with DMD, OLM, and ISTPLT to sort out beyond that because there's a few other things to be dealt with as well (I'm not bottling the decision, I'll be PMing them my thoughts on the various things before I go). If we do end up with an increased number of mods then we'll be a bit top heavy, we can go with it for now, but when people pack it in we probably won't replace them until we're needing to appoint a 3rd mod again, the admin will be wondering if we've got anybody left that isn't a mod otherwise.
Congratulations istplt and now we need another poll to decide your new name. I suggest something unusual like Gunther. Bad luck Party you fought like a true Tiger but it just wasn't to be.
So long as he doesn't change his name before any changes are made to his account. We'll look stupid if we ask for his account to be upgraded and the admin turn round and tell us he doesn't exist. As a few people suggested, given the tightness of the vote we could make them both mods now. Like I said in the previous post, we'd be top heavy, but it would just mean that in future when someone stepped down we wouldn't need to pick a replacement, we'd just reduce the number until we needed to replace someone to keep at 3 mods.
My vote was my vote and not a vote for my husband who would have gone for the Party/Erik coalition. So technically my vote was invalid according to the rules of voting so that reduces it to 48-47. Congratulations to ISTPLT and commiserations to Party. At least the Board now has a credible replacement mod in reserve if required in the future.
I anticipated defeat when I saw the two Leicester names voting for me. Also, ISTPLT could've voted for himself, so it's in effect a 3 vote gap. I have to say congratulations to ISTPLTs, I have enjoyed the contest, and I reckon he'll make a good mod. Good luck to OLM in his future pursuits beyond modding, ie arguing with people on here more abusively, I'd have thought. I have decided that all those who voted for me are now my 'fans', and I will putting a website & personal blog up shortly with compulsory membership for all of those people (annual fee, obviously) where they can continue to show me their appreciation. It's what you've all wanted. Thanks guys
