Not because they are an old rival, not because they take up our air time on blunderside, not because our away broadcasts drift off to their match reports..... But because I just had a 34 coupon accumulator on loads of sports through the day even including tennis and bowls (yes bowls) which just needed Wrexham, Hereford, Mansfield and Grimsby to win tonight. 33 came in one lost... Any guesses? Yes that's right, Grimsby...

    ****ing codheads!

Just over 9 grand off a 50p stake. Closest I've ever come to winning an accumulator aswell...

Oh well, always look on the bright side.

I lost out on my accululator the week. Bloody Spurs drew with West Brom in the last minute. It was nowhere near that much though.

To a £1 fourteen match accumulator, Liverpool once cost me guarunteed odds of 10 and a half thousand to one. Thieving bastards drew 1-1. <wah>

In fairness, Bob, you only have yourself to blame. Why the **** would you bet on Grimsby to win tonight?! They've had an indifferent start to the season and were away! Should have had your cash on Forest Green Rovers instead, if you even needed an extra side at all you greedy bastard...

I'd be interested in seeing a full list of the 34 bets if you fancy posting them.

Actually I did have Forest Green and Luton in along with a few Johnstones paint Crawley, Notts, Yeovil and Southend. I'll post the rest up when I'm on my computer if you must know... And yes Grimsby was pure greed, it added almost an extra grand on, they were favourites, won their last 2, I had a look and Barrow have been ****e not even won yet this season so thought **** it. Worst Idea I've ever had.

Stood to win over £2 grand (big money at the time) on 4 draws on old Littlewoods pools back in the 1970s ... other 3 had come in and I had us down to draw away at Cov .. 2-2 with seconds left ... Jeff Blockley our centre-half gets the ball around the half-way line and decides to waste the remaining seconds by passing back to our keeper (which you could do in those days - i.e ha could pick it up etc) .. clod footed **** only lobbed his own keeper from 40 yards out ...

i won on the pools on back to back weeks in the early 80s - i wasn't quite old enough to do it myself but my granddad paid my numbers ,
back then i won around £280 and the other around £15 - i felt like a millionaire :D

Ive never done an accumulator and i am extremely tempted now :D

right ive just filled in my first ever accumulator on W.Hill as i had a tenner from my winnings in the national .

I picked 10 international games on Friday and only ticked the 9fold box at £0.50 , this made my total stake £5 .
winnings expected to be a sad £59.60 but i picked heavy favorites plus Belgium eeek
Have i done that correct do you reckon :D

There's no right or wrong way, but for those winnings I'd have chucked an extra £1.30 at it, picked 2 more teams (or dropped 4) and done 2 lucky 63's at 5p stakes (or one at 10p stakes) probably better returns and better chane of winning.
