ow do you put a picture in your profile?

I've only been n here a year and a half so it's time I sorted my profile, however I'm unable to bloody put a picture in the bloody box ffs!

 

I'm unable to do it as well - I think its an Easington thing mate, albeit I emigrated but any advice would be appreciated.

 

Too difficult for me too. Too much hassle lol...

You can upload a picture if you have it on your computer or you can upload a pic which you saw on another site by putting the URL into the link box and just copy and paste the link into the option box.

Are the users who are having trouble wanting to upload an image they saw on another site or do you have the image saved on to your computer?

 

Image saved from my computer, the help has definately been underwhelming lol! How ever I loved the eureka moment swiftly followed by crushing realisation, classic lol

 

Why dont people just upload a pic of themselves!?

 

Alan - I uploaded it from a piccie saved on my computer - when i visit my profile page it is there, when i post it is not. HELP pretty please

 

It could be that the file is too large so i recommend using www.tinypic.com to upload the pic and then under "Resize" choose the option "Avatar" then click "upload". Fill in the captcha code.

Now you will see an option called "IMG Code for Forums & Message Boards". Copy and paste the text to this link http://www.not606.com/profile.php?do=editprofilepic and insert the text to "Option 1 - Enter the URL to the Image on Another Website".

 

Do you get an error message when trying to upload the pic?

As Alan has said, go to Control Panel top right of board.
Click on edit Avatar.

Tick Use custom Avatar

If the image is on your computer pick upload and browse to the image.

If it is on a webpage just paste in the URL.

The maximum dimensions of the picture has to be 80x80 pixels or under.
Or less than 19.5 kb in size.
The site will not let you use any image over these sizes.

If you are having trouble resizing stick the picture into your post, and I will do it for you!

 

even the though it states after editing 'Upload of file failed' my avatar pic is showing... so it does work in a roundabout way
