The beatles were just the male equivalent of the Spice Girls - but without the originality and talent.
Both manufactured for human consumption. ****in tragic that both these false bands are held in high esteem.
balls the beatles, like them or not, were massivley important to the music scene and are still studied in most musical institutions in the world
bollocks. manufactured for spotty teenage adolescent girls. mmuzak for the masses. utter inane drivel.
Your point being? Shakespeare is studied in most literary instituions in the world and none of his plays make any sense. Pablo Picasso is studied in most art instituions and all he did was paint portraits of the grandparents of some of my ex girlfriends. These arty types never get it right............
The Beatles are held in high esteem, can't say the music papers are full of such praise for the Spice Girls. I remember seeing Gary Barlow from Take That being interviewed and he was showing the presenter (Andy "race traitor" Peters) all of his awards including some Ivor Novello's but he said he'd moved them from pride of place in his house after one got awarded to the Spice Girls as he thought it lessened the kudos. What a knobhead. Although I'm not the biggest fan of the Beatles it is easy to see why they are the first band mentioned when people talk about the most influential artists. Set the format for rock bands with two guitars, bass and drums and sold records by the container load. Combination of right place at the right time didn't hurt any either.
1. i quite like shakespeare 2. i dont like picasso but i understand he is important 3. the beatles changed music none of these things are eligible for debate
im not a giant fan but denying their impact just does not make sense - it seems like grumps for grumps sakes!
1. nonsense 2. so's your face 3. so you are correct and most universities teaching music - and not some pish module, actual classic music degrees - are wrong?
I cannot believe you would think anyone would ever use not 606 for that purpose. It's certainly not something I would ever do
in my opinion yes they are wrong. their opinion on something that is not fact is no less valid than mine and countless others who think they were ****e and over hyped.
not sure their opinion is no less valid than yours.... my opinion is that electricity makes no sense and is in fact basically magic - i'd wager someone more qualified might have a more valid opinion than i do however
Have to agree with this. Music is subjective so has to be based on opinions. Sometimes those who shout the loudest are the ones who influence the opinion formers. Being from Merseyside, the Beatles had a great talent for ingflating their worth and for shameless self promotion which was probably present in their mothers' breast milk...
Spot on Dan. Opinion and Facts are two different entities. one can forgive Simon though as he is a young boy and is easily misled and cannot think for himself. He will learn.
The Beatles are the Arkle of British music Cyc - some people never stop going on about their greateness whilst others think they were an overated pile of rubbish. As an average type of bloke i never get embroiled in the argument and try and sit on the fence
Dan I noticed that if an argument breaks out, you do your best to inflame the situation. Proud of ya mate.
