Great news and a good, new source of both exposure & capital income for the Club - another step helping the Youth Academy to become more self-sufficient.

A few good games could help raise attendances even further too. Very glad Arsenal have got on board with this as it could further raise the Arsenal name / brand around Europe.

Good in the sense that we get to watch the games properly. But beyond that the income will be minimal and no one really watching the U21 leagues who didn't already know about the senior teams. I am glad the series exist though and it will be a great opportunity to blood youngsters against a variety of different European teams as far as broadcasting it so it is easier to watch the benefits will be negligible.

The benefit isn't really money, just the chance for the young players to take on a wider range of top European sides at a similar level. It's also great that the teams now have to play some of their games at their first team's home ground whilst some clubs, like ours, played games at the training ground last year.

Should be interesting now there's a few more of the bigger academy sides involved, just to see how they all shape up against eachother. Inter won it last and we beat them 7-1 in the groups and I think Liverpool played a few of their young first team squad players too.

Nah we didn't... We had some of them on tour with us though, and indeed Sterling has broken through this season.

That's if I'm getting what you mean right, some of them have first team squad numbers obviously.

Good competition, hope UEFA don't crush it.

Flannagan, Robinson, Shelvey and Spearing were the ones I was thinking of. They all grew out of academy football awhile back, didn't they?
