i never agreed to never having negative views i never got on warnocks back even though i was sick of the excuses after every game whilst he is manager i will trust him do do the best he can for QPR same goes for the next manager whenever that is
I deliberately worded it as a hiatus on calling for his head, as has been done a bit on here. Of course, all those signing up remain at liberty to question or criticise tactics, team selection, substitutions, form, interview comments etc. I just think we should suspend campaigns for his head is all.
I think he's useless, but I've never called for his head, he's our man, we've made our bed and now we have to lie in it.
I'll go for QPAAAAAGH's third way. Hughes kept us up last season and was just about in credit. He's bought well over the closed season (we'll forget the Green blip if Cesar is as good as he sounds) and now has a team of competence and flair that can get to mid-table if they are used correctly. Of course, Swansea was a big disappointment but Hughes hasn't just had to make changes around the edges of the team, he's had to give us a blood transfusion and we looked a weak patient. We did at least draw with Norwich which is better than last season. For me, the season begins against Chelsea. Hughes should have had long enough by then to know how he wants the new team to play. If he can get the CB's solid and settled, Diakite playing well and Granola and Faurlin understanding each other, then he can play around with outfielders without the collapse that we saw against Swansea. I think by the time we play WBA in four games time, we'll have a pretty good idea whether Hughes will sink or swim. If he sinks eventually, like Steve Bruce did at Sunderland last year, well, then any incoming manager will have talent at his command, as Martin O'Neill did.
As a supporter I pay my money but have no choice over who we buy, what formation we play etc, so I reserve the right to Judge, sometimes too quickly and sometimes too slowly but I still feel it's my right, so no pledges from me. Having said that I haven't called for MHs head and won't be until we move a lot further into the season, if we get nothing from the two Go West games then I'll start to twitch but until then I'm not that unhappy. At the end of the day I look at the squad and I think we look good, still an ongoing piece of work but promising, even if MH went he would leave that a great squad and maybe because of it we would probably attract a better class of manager.
I wont judge MH either way till Xmas......which I when I decided Warnock is rubbish for the Premier League last season. I think its unfair until they have had a good crack over the summer and then first half of the season. Anyway, Hughes is better than Warnock and I imagine our next manager will be better than Hughes.....means to an end.....to eventually have a top performing club.
You've nothing to base that on, you're just a COLIN lover. Although how anyone could love a *****r is beyond me!
I'm in and will happily give Hughes 10 games to find out his best team tactics but I have to agree with the post above. With the players we have we should have attacked City more in the first half. We were far to negative. Over to you Mr Hughes
Another thing on sacking Hughes, how many of the new backroom set up are his men? What a massive unrest that would be if he went and the new man wanted to bring in his own team, scouts, academy coaches! Its time for stability at our club and I hope that Tony, Amit,Phil, Mark and Mike are the ones to bring it to our club
People talk about end product and Hughes' ability after 3 games of the season, none with the full squad that he has now assembled. That's a joke right? To me alot of you sound like Briatore in his way of thinking. Want instant results. When talking about our run at the end of last season and Hughes' negative tactics - what else was he supposed to do with what was available to him. Cisses was banned for a chunk of his games. Would you all really have prefferred to play an open attacking game against Arsenal and Spurs at home and lost and gone down? Or to have paired Zamora up front with Bothroyd? A little more thought is needed before criticism in my opinion.
What has Warnock got to do with this? I'm basing it on watching the games he's been in charge, I remain convinced Cisse getting sent off at Sunderland and getting a 5 game ban saved us. Without that system being forced on him, the genius would have kept playing the 4 4 2, that was seeing us get mullered by Liverpool before he got LUCKY! Talks a good game, all hype no substance.
I just don't understand how you could love him so much and go apoplectic when he was criticized, yet at the same time, think Hughes is useless - even though their PL results as QPR Manager have been pretty much the same?
