Having watched the Swansea game back I have to ask. I know people on here love sess however does he do enough defensively or is he just playing off fletcher.

He rarely got back to help defend. Yes he's a bit deeper than fletch but does he need to do more?

The reason I ask is that last year often Larrson tucked in and helped defend. This is not going to happen with AJ and Mcclean. So really we have two defensive midfielders in Seb and catts at the mo.

When u watched against Swansea we were getting overrun in the middle. Should Sess have been back in there? Or should our wide players have tucked in more?

I know sess, Aj and Mcclean are primarily attacking weapons but are we leaving ourselves open to losing the midfield battle?

Last year I started to see McClean track back and in training I think they will work on that...

However I think mon is going for 4-2-3-1 atm

Which is the tactic I would use

yes tony I agree with sess jonno and jimmy we are not going to have really
    fully back trackers
Maybe jimmy will do his bit but sess has other duties an i also I think seb is been used in a different role but all this came to fruition when cats got injured we need to keep our bite up in midfield which may allow seb and jimmy to do the back tracking because I can't see jonno been expected to do it ?????<bubbly>

Players like Sess don't need to defend. So long as he produces the goods at the business end of the field with assists and goals then that should be ok. We operate like this with Ben Arfa. He does track back at times however he cannot tackle for toffee. Give players like Sess a free role.

I agree totally with this but that freedom comes with caveats. They have to produce results. At the moment, Sess has had 3 average performances and thats being kind.

However, Sess isn't fit by any stretch of the imagination, having had no matches pre season and it shows. Another 2 or 3 games and he will be up to speed and then we can judge his performances properly.

He should be fully fit for the back end of October.

Totally agree - there's no way anyone should be jumping to conclusions about his, or anyone else's performance after a couple of games. New players, injuries, lack of preseason, players out of position, these should have ensured at least one loss so far, but they haven't. The future's bright

I think that Cest has hit the nail on the head regarding his match fitness. I think we will see a marked improvement in his performances as the season goes on.
