Anyone else getting a bit fed up of all the players coming in who refer to QPR as being a project? It brings to mind nursery school children making space ships out of cereal packets and bog rolls.

If by Project they mean "The owner promised me that he is going to spend sh!t loads of cash on players and within the next 5 years there will be a brand new stadium in Shepherd's Bush" then I'll stop being such a whiney bitch but until that is announced I really wish they'd just stick to the usual "Club has a fantatic history blah, blah, blah...." bullsh1t we normally get.

To be fair to Ferandes and Beard the 'future' and the 'project' are probably their best sales tools. It's not as if we can say we've been in the Champions League recently (ever) or we've got a fantastic stadium for you to play in. After the San Siro, Ceasar must have thought he'd come to the training ground when he arrived at Loftus Road last Tuesday with 6,500 watching a game.

The 'Project' is our best hope of signing decent players, oh, and ten's of thousand's of pounds a week!

I'd rather be a project than a boutique.

Typical british.....moaning for the sake of moaning.....who gives a damn whether is called a project or not.....??

"Project: frequently involving research or design, that is carefully planned to achieve a particular aim."

I would say us trying to become an decent established Premier league team is a project.

I don't have a problem with it, as long as its long term. Project, to me, says something big, requiring careful planning and execution, something to be developed and put out there as the best you can do.

I dont care to be honest. It is a long term vision for the club and its positive so if its called a project then so be it.

No, people might get confused and think that Elton John has taken a stake in the club. "Queen's Project" indeed.

The last thing we need is a statue of some pop star outside our ground. How tacky would that be.

"Project" is the kind of ad exec speak that has infiltrated common parlance and I don't like it.

Team - "a number of persons forming one of the sides in a game or contest: a football team" That sounds more like it to me.

    The Alan Parsons Project anyone?

But modern day football is more than just the 11 players on the pitch.....its about the whole club from the ground roots up.

If it wasnt then Bournemouth FC would be playing Manchester United regularly.....but they never will be, as it not just about 11 people on a pitch.

Think you are just being a bit petty old chap :)

Petty moi? OK, I may well be, but my concern is everyone is looking way off into the future with the Project and not concerned enough about the nitty gritty of winning games NOW. Our next home game is against our biggest rivals (at least most historic local rivals) and I want to beat them. Whether or not we get a 45,000 stadium in 5 years is not as important as winning matches this season and staying in the Premiership is vital if the dreams of the owners are to be achieved. Or do we do a Coventry and end up with a big empty ground in League One?

I wonder if it is a bit of a distraction for the players and owners who keep on referring to the Project. Lovely to have some ambition at last but stick to the job in hand. I've also posted comments on how impressive the squad looks so not all doom and gloom I hope.

You're right, it's starting to be up there with the reality shows favourite word "JOURNEY"!! Maybe it's named after that Mathew broderick film project X, where they experiment on the chimps?!

I think as the season goes on we will get better and better and the term "project" is just a buzz word used to sell QPR to players that may not come if they dont think the Club has any ambition.....it also gives us fans something to expect and gets people from the outside looking in with curiosity.

Im sure it doesnt provide any distraction to the players.....allthough I wouldnt hold any hopes against Chelsea.....bar their Super Cup flop, they are looking pretty good and that hazzard is a menace in the centre for them.
