I'm sorry Uber. I can't buy into this. I want to like Hughes, I really do. I would love him to go on and be a legendary QPR manager.

But I find myself getting increasingly frustrated game upon game with him. I am usually one of the first on here encouraging everyone else to remain patient and be positive and I
really hate to appear negative about anyone who is part of QPR.

Last season we stood by him as he gallantly fought to keep us up, with a team that was only partly his. Nevertheless, his brand of football was pure torture ( Yes, even those tremendous home victories. ) and our away results and performances were shocking. One point from nine away games is pretty abysmal by anyones standards. His style of football??? ( Does anyone know what it is yet? ) Has continued into this season, boring. Even though he had told us that he had got his business done early, got the right players in, that we had a good pre-season, and the players had enjoyed his intense training sessions that would become evident.

Onto this season, we still have a dodgy defence that gets pulled apart by even mediocre sides. Everyone knows that every good side is built on a good solid defence. So why was this not adressed asap? And up until now has not. I would of thought that any fan would understand this fundamental rule.
We have apparently employed a backstage army of scouts, psycologists, nutritionalist, performance co-ordinators, various coaches and many other experts who will aid Hughes in leaving nothing to chance. Among this army are Eddie Niedzwiecki and Kevin Hitchcock. Two coaches that are apparently at the top of their game. Well reknowned within football circles as two of the finest coaches. So it was they I would imagine, who suggested getting in Robert Green.

Even we on here had many Goalkeeping threads and decided that Green wasn't the man for our project. Yet Hughes still validated his signing of him giving his usual schpeil about what a great aquisition he was and demonstrated where we were as a club in being able to attract a player of his quality to the club. Hughes then decided to bin him after two games.

And on and on I could go. I dont want to pull apart and make an assesment of every signing as that has been done elsewhere. At the moment I feel a deep frustration that I hope will lessen and we will come good in time. It's just that the evidence isn't there yet. I can take the losing but not the repeated poor performances. We still can't even pass to each other even though we have better players in.

As for all this time to gel nonsense, Michu at Swansea hasn't needed time to gel at a supposedly lesser quality side. You would of expected at least one of our new star signings would have been able to step up to the plate. Not so. Maybe we have the right players but Hughes's man management supresses them. They seem to play like robots.

So I'm sorry Uber but for all the reasons above.. and many more... You can count me out.

Count me in. No one is above criticism but TF and co have invested too much in Hughes to not give him plenty of time to get things right on the pitch.

I'm in because this is the new beginning. When he joined us, he had to deal with losing players to ACON for several games and from there on in, it was a dogfight. We got through it and have done a lot of business since, some very recent. This is his team, in fact, we haven't even seen it yet.

We're in a strange position of being a relatively small club with high expectations. Hughes is capable and could do with us getting behind him.

Nines, that's a top quality article I must say. Its crystal clear where you're coming from and I feel I know what kind of fan you are more than anyone else on this Site.

You're a fully fledged QPR traditionalist that believes style is just as important as substance (please correct if wrong). The best point I'd take out of your article is the amount of "back-up" Hughes has on his staff. He really does come with an entourage that must cost an awful lot. For all that, then we must be entitled to a large measure of consistency and eventual success.

I believe we'll be really good in time. I do however have concerns about the transfer policy despite Loan Ranger's very good clarifications on how much we've actually spent. Our acquisitions are no doubt quality footballers but the high-earning, over-thirty thing just doesn't sit right with me.

Only time will tell us how right or wrong our current approach / set-up is.

I am in but should be 5 games not three. Way too much short-termism in football these days

I think your right mate, it will come good soon hopefully.

What I wrote was bourne out of frustration more than anything else.

After sitting through that Swansea game with my two daughters after telling them what a great season we were going to have was hard to take. Especially as they both had to endure the Fulham and Chelsea away games last season. End result... 17-1 in three games. To make matters worse when we got in the car to go home a song came on the radio....The Manic Street Preachers.... If you tolerate this, then your children will be next. I kid you not.

I am a purist and hate to see us play the way we do. At least Southampton go for it and play to win and are only one point worse off for doing so.
With all these supposedly great players we are still playing the same way, ie Ironically, with no ambition.

After saying all this we'll probably go and beat Chelsea 2-0 next game.

Come on you RRRR's! Get in there!

I'm still a bit peeved the way we was robbed in the Cup last season. Hill barely even touched their player for that Pen.

(Although, to be fair, we had the rub of the green in the League Game!)

You can count me out too Uber.

I'm just a simple Rangers fan. I pay my ticket when I can get to games and pay plenty in nerves in any case.

I cheer when we score, win or even save face; and when we don't measure up, I'm want to mope and sulk - and reserve the right to come on here to compare notes - if I can be arsed to talk about it. [No idea though why some find the inevitable negative commentary on some post-match threads so depressing - if you don't fancy the subject matter just stand clear and read and respond to something you prefer.]

Whilst it's down to players to score and prevent goals against, it's down to managers to create the conditions that win points. Hughes knows the score as well as we do. No plaudits for bollox...

BUT when we win and climb the table, hey, call me fickle if that's what floats your boat BUT he's SIR MARK, King of Kings, Lord of Lords, his imperial majesty Hughesy-I! Jah. Rangerfari!! (Yeah, mixing me metaphors I know but you get my drift... )

As things stand atm, he's about 50/50 with me. Not bad on the large scale forward planning and acquisitions front but as yet, still no end product on the pitch that would instantly command the thumbs up.

Looking back over the decades, it always strikes me that teams often reflect the character of their gaffers. If that's gonna be the case here then Hughesy will get all the pieces in place and looking good alright - but can he ingrain the passion and belief needed to go the whole hog when we need to? Personally I doubt it. Whilst he's managed to hold a mid table position most years, what's he ever won?

Man needs to smile and enthughes us all from time to time. If he can't motivate his players, it's unlikely they'll go that extra mile for him.

Dunno though... might change me mind in a coupla weeks!

I am in! ALWAYS support your manager and team. Anyone complaining now must have repressed the last 16 years of anger and frustration. Not healthy!

999s, that's a super post. Hard for me to disagree with any of it. I always liked MH as a player and respect him as a manager. Right now I'm finding it very hard to see what he has brought to our club. He has been here long enough for us fans to see a distinct improvement in our results. I really don't know what team he will put out from week to week. I really don't know what to expect from our players. We have been really inconsistent up to now. The one thing I expected above everything else was a team with good attitude who work hard and press the opposition with boundless energy and effort. I don't see it. All the things that MH is supposed to be renowned for seem to be missing, passion, effort, hunger, desire etc. We are not playing as a team. Our performances are inconsistent and disorderly. We are not playing with a set formation an. I don't think MH knows our best formation and best 11. Being an optimist I really hope he gets it right. I would love him to be successful because that would mean we will be successful. The last thing we need is another new manager. I am behind him for now but I have to say I don't like what I have seen so far.

Excellent post Nines! Post of 2012 definitely! You put into words everything that has been nawing away somewhere in me. There is something missing - I think it is belief, that go for it mentality, up and at em. We had it with Colin, also in fact in some of MH games at the end of last season, the home games we won , and also at City. So I think he can still get this back with Mr Hughes. But FFS when we are a goal down in the 2nd half MH has got to give it a go! I was in despair Saturday, as at West Brom last April, and many other times last winter because we seem to accept that we aren't gong to take points when in fact we could of!

And why we have brought in all of these players this summer without really stengthening at CB is a mystery to me- OK M'bia maybe but his main position is DCM. Nelson? - possibly an improvement?

But MH must be given until at least mid October to see if he can get us performing with more spirit, determination to win, and hopefully with more aggression and attacking flowing football - with Granero, Adel, Cisse, Hoillett, Mackie, BZ, Ale, Diakite and Traore, we do have the attacking players that can excite, score goals and drive us up the PL. Not sure we have good enough players defensively yet, but there ought to be far more goals in us than we are scoring.

I'm prepared to give MH room to get us results. It is a long season and as I've said before, rather a bad start and good finish than the opposite. We'll come good, it just takes a bit of time.
Our game against Chelsea will be our starting point.

Im in! I think having a manager with MH background in the game has helped us bring in some quality players. Warnock is QPR legend but I don’t think Cesar would of joined us if we still had Warnock. MH kept us up last season when it looked impossible. Sparky gets my vote

You need a third category. I have always been positive about MH and intend to remain so but I definitely reserve the right to make constructive criticisms.

Can I assume that those signing up to never have negative views will refrain from posting on here until they cancel their oath? Not much point in being part of a forum if your views are fixed and your opinions are gagged is there?
