Of course we had the same doubts about Simpson when he first came. Did not exactly set the world on fire in the beginning and now has played well in I think just a couple of competitive games. Lets hope that he has many more of them, but Rome was not built in two games etc. Similarly we cant write of NP on the back of his performances in just the few games he has played. At least I hope not since based upon watching at least two full games on TP he played well given the circumstances while not exactly setting the game on fire.

I've worked with many Germans and I don't see there being any problem with him making friends and settling in, He'll be free to nip home often as well, It's only an hours flight to Paderborn.

Good luck to the big fellow I'm sure he won't need it though.

Good spot Bob, we were saying at halftime he looked forlorn, and you were right Dawson blanked him. Seems to be something wrong.

    i think you are ascribing
effect = we look like we have goals in the team and are a threat
    to
cause = leaving out the German
    whereas
cause more likely = changes to midfield and perhaps employment of home formation instead of unproductive away formation

Maybe this is right, the new players have made a difference. Maybe if Proschwitz comes back in he will benefit from the service of Quinn and Elmo.

Surely now we have three players who aren't allergic to crossing the ball - Elmo, Quinn, and Aluko - we might as well try sticking Proschwitz back in the side and letting him get his noggin on one? That's if his heading improves, mind you...

With the service provided on Saturday, I think Prozzy might well have scored, theres plenty of time yet.

Never mind Nick, even Party could score when chances present themselves like they were on Saturday.

Just so you arent worried, I'm told Prosch lives in Anlaby House, and i think Mcshane does too so he isnt on his own.

Half the team are there, all the ex-Man United lads were there until Chezza moved up the road into his own gaff and Cam went to Burnley.

It's all strange because with the last couple of seasons where we have really struggled with goals, we now all of a sudden look threatening and capable of getting rid of the lowest scoring side label.

To me, I think either McLean or Fryatt are leaving. It was rumored that we went for Jay Bothroyd and then tried to hijack Florist to getting Billy Sharp and for the first time in ages, we wouldn't really need any other strikers unless someone else was leaving...

It may be a harsh assumption but I can see a shock coming in January. Especially if we are going for even more strikers. We're becoming like West Spam!

With Bothroyd the logic would obviously be to get us to a 2 big strikers/2 small strikers position. I wonder if Bothroyd going to the Wendies stopped McLean being able to go somewhere and that's what his "**** day" tweet was about. Rather than it being about Cam going for 1-3 months (recall ability on emergency loan deals) it was that he knows he's behind Aluko, Simpson and Fryatt up front (and Nick if we play with a bigger striker and a smaller one) and he was looking forward to a move to give him regular games.

QPR set to leave Luke Young, DJ Campbell, and Rob Hulse out of their 25 man squad. Rob Hulse played for their U21s against Cardiff today (designated overage player for them) and scored 2 goals. The fact they played him would suggest it's a coin toss between him and Hogan Ephraim for the 25 man squad or that they had scouts looking at Hulse.

IMO, Big Nick will be used for tougher defences or when we need to set up differently because of the oppositions set up. If that makes sense.

Maybe Bruce knew Simpson and Aluko would be a handful for Ream and co. and so he left Nick out. For that fee, I shouldn't think the Allams would be too happy to see him not play that often.

    He'll come good.
    Just give him time.
He'll get the time and breathing space to adapt while the others are scoring.

It's up to him I suppose to take his chance when injury/suspension creates that opportunity.

I reckon he's finding all a bit of a culture shock.

One day he'll wake up, and he'll have it sorted and understand how things work over here.

    It'll be fine.

This sort of thing happens all the time. Remember 2007?

We signed Folan as our first ever million-pound signing, and he went on only to feature as a super-sub (admittedly an outstanding one - he seemed to score whenever he came on in the second half of that season, didn't he?)

There's no way Bruce will just allow him to disappear into the background. He needs working into the side, and thanks to Simpson's form, he can do that with the pressure off.
