Well it's not as if all Scottish people are happy to mind their own business over constitutional questions in Northern Ireland. Quite a few Scottish Rangers supporters in particular have very strong opinions on the place I was born. Would you call everyone from Scotland who wants Northern Ireland to remain part of the United Kingdom bitter and twisted litte men?

If you want to buy it, buy it. But making it out, as many have, as some blow for free speech is a lot of ****. You want to support free speech then read about and support some of the many, many people who put their lives at risk every day across the world fighting for it.

Don't mistake an ex-Sun journo flogging excerpts from his boring blog in a paperback as some free speech issue. It's just not. The Sun have withdrawn their serialization, true, but the book is still there. You can read the blog - if you can maintain the will to live through more than a few sentences.

Its not about free speech. Its about how the Scottish journalist didn't report the facts and blatantly lied to everyone to cover up for murrays failings.

So you're telling me a large company involved in the entertainment industry has been cosying up to journo's who also work in said field of entertainment with a view to getting their story across?

Well **** me sideways. Hang on, that's the UN on the phone - Yep apparently they don't give a ****.

Please remember football is just like the movies, like pop music, TV and the rest. It's a form of entertainment, not a social movement.

No. Not really. I've been laughing at all possible opportunities at our now dead rivals. Still chuckling now and then. But, try as I might I can' bring myself to read those long arsed threads debating the topic or the countless blog entries either.

It's not even that funny any more. Just get the dual contract case sorted, one side or the other or both will moan about corruption etc and we can watch some footie at some point. At the end of the day it's a big, corrupt entertainment industry. They mostly are and football is one of the worst. I'd like that to change but my ability to give a **** is severely limited by the importance of the subject.

Well I'm not sure if I can be annoyed going into the psychology of it in any detail at this time of the evening, but I think it fills a gap which is bigger than your average piece of entertainment - a sort of evolutionary need to belong to a tribe which attacks and defends from other tribes. It's the only form of petty tribalism that I am fully conscious of and still freely let myself indulge in -without worrying too much about how silly it should be to spend so much of one's free time obsessing over a load of young men kicking a ball about a park.

Mick, you have a good point there. It does have an edge. But it is packaged and sold like any other form of entertainment.

I will miss the hun skelping tho. Maybe we can humiliate them in a cup game or something.

rangers demise. Im getting the book in the hope its like a recollection of all the stuff that happened. I thought it was one of the best stories to come out of Scotland in years. It was the story that kept on giving.
