Just thought i would mention him. Plays for the U18's but has really impressed me quite quickly seems to be banging goals in for fun at the moment and i believe this is his first season with us and he has 5 goals in 3-4 games at the moment. I think that he seems a bit of a prospect and would not be surprised to see him introduced at some point next year.
You seem very sure based on very little! Has had a promising start to the season, but it's a big step up to the first team.
He's very much a fox in the box type of striker. The sort of irritant who is impossible to pick up and is always in the right place at the right time. A bit like a younger Kevin Phillips. Not the sort of striker who adds much to the play, but the sort of striker who gets on the end of everything. If you have a striker like that and know how to use them, it can be incredibly prolific.
The fact he played for the Under-21s aged 15 isn't bad evidence either Admittedley I haven't heard much, but what i have I'm convinced he'll make it
Has he really played for England Under-21's? Edit - I have no idea why I thought you said England, a very long day!
Was anyone buzzing about Chamberlain having huge potential before he reached the first team? I don't remember much.
Did he play for the U21s? He played (and scored) for the U18s last season. The goal he scored against Arsenal is on player somewhere. Bit of a scrappy one, but he's the sort of player who bundles those in. Keeper palmed the ball into the middle and Seager was first to it.
Lots of good players coming through seager, Gallagher, Marty target. On another note anyone know if George mells is still at saints? I watched him once v Watford academy and he was an a completely different level to everyone else, a stunning talent but I haven't heard much in the let year. I knowthat Chelsea had first dibs on him as we took him form them an that was part of the deal.
George Mells is a year below a 1997 he is still at Saints and has just returned from Representing Australia U17 in Saudi Arabia I'm told played against China, Morrocco, UAE.And from reports he played very well. My mate tells me the lad is in with a host family parents have gone back to Australia saints have been looking after him as from 14. Must be hard for him.
I realise that leaving a 14-yr-old behind must be tough, but I suppose his parents hope it will be best for him in the long term. I think Southampton take their responsibilities seriously, encouraging education as well as football. He must be quite mature though, I think at that age my son wouldn't be passed the odd tear at night.
