Since Bruce took the brave decision of leaving out the German we look like we have goals in the team and are a threat. Against Bolton you would have thought a player like Proschwitz would be needed for his size and ability to lead the line but it turned out that wasn't the case at all. If we keep on scoring like we are doing then there is no need for Proschwitz to play to justify his big fee so how will he get back in the team?

He has to bide his time and wait for a chance just like anyone else who isn't in the starting 11

My biggest worry about the foreigner was half time. He was stood about on his own playing keepy uppy, completely excluded from the passing game and no one even bothered talking to him. He even plodded over to Dawson to try and talk who clearly wasn't interested and carried on stretching. He looked lost. It's a worry he may have no friends here and is not settling at all which could answer for his below par performances. I was thinking about starting a thread on this and surprised I've not seen it mentioned yet.

Proper billy no mates he is.

It's a squad game these days, so as long as you are in the named 18, then you'rethere to do a job !
What that job is however, is dictated by what the manager sees from the touchline. If SB needs to change the gameplay then who's to argue against experience ?
Personally thought he got everything right against a good side that City made look ordinary.

Is he holed up in a hotel on his own, or is he sharing with other City players. Thats half the problem for any new player. It can be a really awfukl time for a player lodged in a hotel not knowing anyone.

You have a good point, but it should be up to the management to make sure he does get intergrated into the set up. Often clubs get 2 players of the same nationality, so they have a fellow countryman to room with. I am sure there must be another good German player we could get in.

Well he's pretty fluent in English so the language isn't a problem. Can't say I noticed him at half time, someone texted into humberside after the match saying the same thing though. From a distance it's easy to make assumptions, but you can never really know what's going on. I'm sure he'll be fine after bedding in.

He needs time, he will get time, and hopefully show us why we paid £2.6m for him - SB said himself about a couple of the signings he made at Wigan that it was only in their second season did they really start playing to their full potential and getting noticed and now many of them have gone on to much bigger and better clubs.

Hopefully it won't take Big Nick that long, but only time well time.

I would suggest he was anything but a panic buy considering he signed at the beginning of pre season. I would guess Bruce's scouts saw him at Sunderland and he either wasn't there long enough to sign him or didn't think he was quite good enough for the mack em and tack ems.

Bruce did say he had been watching him whilst he was at Sunderland

I'd suggest he needs more then a goal, it will be like learning to play all over again. Not only is he in a new country, new team mates, but a much tougher league and completely different tempo and style of play, he needs time to adapt and get used to how it rolls over here.

In other terms with bikes it would be like jumping straight from the 125 class into the super bikes, having never ridden anything but a 125 in your life. Whole new kettle of fish.

I don't believe for a second that any of you want him to fail.

Surely City fans aren't that pig headed they want one of their own players to be a joke.

Not even Sonko got this much scrutiny, this early on as Nick.

I'd be surprised if he hadn't. By the time we went to Fulham in mid-October I and the rest of the guys I travelled to away games with were that sick of the **** he was getting from fans that we were heckling the fans that were taking the piss with chants before the game had even started. He'd only been here about 6 weeks at that stage and it must have been going on for a while for that many of us to have been so sick of it that we were arguing with other fans to defend a player none of us even rated.

thing is we've plenty of talent & footballers who can create & score goals.. Simpson is looking more and more the talent I always thought he was and who my Arsenal mate was banging on about when we signed him..

you don't need 2 "strikers" with the current formation - Fryatt will find it hard to get in now too nevermind Mclean & Proschwitz..

Was thinking it took Jay Simpson all that time to settle and look at him now. It's a bit worrying for the lad if he is isolated or a loner.

Sonko had been here less than a month when we got hammered at Liverpool. He'll have had far more stick than Prossy's had. Also, Sonko didn't cost us £2.6 million, so it's quite understandable really.

It's a long season and injuries will come and he'll be back in regardless. He just needs time and whilst I had my doubts about SB, I think he's planning wisely for the long term with this signing. I wonder how Simpson, Fryatt etc would fare if they went straight into the German league under the same circumstances as Prossie has arrived here, just how quickly would they settle in? Let's face it who expected Simpson to be here still? We kept hearing rumours/gossip/shoite about how he wasn't settled in the north etc and now lo and behold he looks very happy. Let's be patient eh?
