What we have to remember is Guru is an Ipswich fan, and with that comes the love of all things history. Everybody else knows that last season's results mean diddly squat even though we have less points than we did this time last season, and we got better results in the corresponding fixtures.

I suppose if Ipswich had a better squad than last season, and had started the season flying, you could understand Guru coming over here giving it billy big bollox, but as they are destined to have another season of putrid football and rumblings behind closed doors, you have to ask why?

It's far too early to be making any judgements, but I think on Saturday we finally put the lambert era to rest. This is the start of NCFC 3.0 under Chris Hughton, and I'm very excited.

Right, lets expel some of these myths/excuses.

Firstly, a lot of you use the 'bedding in' excuse, so i presume that every club you have played haven't bought any new players so are immune from the bedding in? or have theri pre season been much better organised?

second, why i why do you have to bring our own fails in to cover up your own, we all know ITFC are doing crap at the moment and are being run by pricks, does that make you own bad start better?

third, and this is directed to Rich44, if you want me banned ask Dave to make a judgement and stop keep whinging on!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but if you ban me, you will have to ban every single other fan that posts on your board, thats the whole idea of a multi board forum if that has escaped you notice! so in all due respect grow a pair!

    1) don't understand your point at all

    2) we haven't made a bad start. its not been brilliant but we just got a point at white hart lane and are 15th in the table, a position we would all happily accept come may

    3) nice rant but we don't care

so to summarise, i genuinely have no idea what you are talking about!

Well we've had a new manager and 8 new players so bedding in does come into it, it's not a major issue though as we clearly demonstrated Saturday, when we effectively played tottenham hotspur off the park.

Our rate of improvement at the movement is exponential, our players are highly skilled and our manager did not crumble under a freak result on the first game, which can happen to anyone.

We are ideally placed to finish around, or above, where we finished last year based on what I've seen. We've got a far more flexible and talented midfield and an actual defence. People can go on about our forwards but they will deliver I'm sure. Liverpool have a striker crisis, not us.

You won't find anyone that hates on lambert, regardless of how well he'd have started this season. He did what he did and we got the right man in to replace him and take us to the next level in my opinion. They are different managers with different ways of doing things but I think We're all very happy.

Supers, my point is, you use this 'oh, its early in the season not later on like last time' surly its early on in the season for your opponents so pro rata effect for them as aswell.

well, if he had a valid point to make i'm all for him saying it, but i literally have no idea what point he is trying to make! he is obviously attempting to a) have a dig and b) tell us that we are missing lambert, but neither have worked because a) we're happy with how things are progressing and b) we were always going to miss lambert but we've appointed the best man to replace him whose made a decent impression with us fans already, despite a difficult opening match.

so spurs didn't have a new manager and new players, and on saturday i think i could count 4 new players in your starting line up (may be wrong on this though) so unless you used a maximum of 4 subs i can't see how 8 could have been used! so i presume you are saying that the bedding in effect does apply to them?

Which takes me back to my earlier question - have you actually seen our last 2 games?

If you had you would know the answer, so assuming you have not I am guessing you have been reading threads on here but hiding from the humiliation handed out at Blackpool. If have been reading threads, you will also know how we have been playing and why we have not won either of the last two games.

Now if you want a straight comparison between the football played between PL & CH, I will stick my neck out and say we are better under CH and will only improve over the course of the season <ok>

supers, i think 'b' best sums up what i'm getting at, but looking at some of the replies does bring out a good point about how you can bring any old excuse, yet if the same team also have the same issues that is conviently forgotton. i.e beefy's point about new manager and players yet spurs suffered the same!

No, i think i may have been on here once or twice after blackpool, and i have seen highlights and it seems you have been playing well but not winning games, surely that must be a worry that you didn't have enough to finish teams off?
