Well he wanted total control and he got it ! It's been pointed out to one of our posters on the puddle board Brenda won't last three years if this goes on. I don't know if it was a fruedian slip but on the press pass on talksh*t the presenter said '' after the break we'll be discussing which teams did well in the transfer window and who will be searching through the bins for free agents '' Reminded me of a certain football putdown song but can't think of the team........<laugh>

We don't pay a manager to attempt to be an entertaining, bull ****ting clown, we pay him to put entertaining football on the field and not insult our intelligence when asked to comment on his work product. ML has been damn near perfect in player acquisition, player management on the field, team selection, on the field entertainment and results. If it continues like this we're all going to be so ****ing happy we'll need plastic surgery to take the smile off our faces.

Let's not confuse blarney acting with passion. His reactions on the touch line clearly indicate he feels what's going on on the field and he his living the moment. He is a Jack by how he does his job, how he sticks by us instead bolting for the first splash of stupid cash that comes his way, how he respects us - the club, the players, the fans. He gets it because he has lived it at the highest level for 30 years - he doesn't have to blarney anything. He is authentic.

Spot on again Yankee. So just to follow on from that and ask a really early question. No matter where we finish this year, do you think there is a chance ML will stay another year and honour his contract. I really hope so. I am loving it so far.

Just looking around the other boards to escape the negativity...

Will say that our board is moderated very ably in light of the WUMS we have from yourselves recently, Chelsea, Spurs, Arsenal, United etc. Of course we're a sitting duck these days for those who enjoy that sort of thing.

Phil had comments removed because he made the same comment on several active threads (basically spam). Doesn't help that his rhetoric style is less than endearing either.

Swansea's excellent start to the season will not have gone unnoticed by any of the Premier League Club's owners.
Should they be looking to replace their existing managers, then Mr. Michael Laudrup will be very high on their lists as a replacement.
This shouldn't come as any surprise, and I hope that Dr. Huw Jenkins is already earmarking a replacement.

Vetch .... I think your position presumes ML could be motivated to leave. I'd like to think that he believes in the project more than his predecessors and that he's smart enough to know that he walked into the ideal situation for him and us and that the "Liverpool to Swansea" conversion project is damn nearer to mission impossible than mission ideal - Big club, Small club, no difference.

Laudrup has already stated that he is not looking to stay in football for the rest of his life. He is a highly intelligent guy and, unlike Rodgers, is not desperately motivated to earn a reputation in football. He has already cemented this for all time with his achievements as a player and earned more accolades than practically anyone else in the game today.

I think that Lauds' main satisfaction is derived from working with lesser known players at a smaller club and developing the whole package into something worthwhile. I have nothing but respect for the man, for the way he speaks, for the way he conducts himself. He is a true legend and I am mightily proud that he chose us as his project.

I actually think he's using us as a stepping stone to managing Denmark. I've got no problem with that provided he sees out his contract.
