Anyone who knows me knows that I'm a boring bastard. Anyhooo, I was reading some **** at the weekend and noticed that 100 years ago, Govan was incorporated into Glasgow. So I did a bit of googling and discovered that between 1890 and 1912 Rangers won 7 titles, which means that not only are Rangers the most decorated club in Glasgow, we are also the most decorated club outside of Glasgow.
Surely Aberdeen having won the European Cup Winners Cup and the European Super Cup are the most successful team outside of Glasgow? After all, most intelligent football fans would agree that winning trophies at that level far outweighs domestic titles.
No no no no no ST. Rangers are the most successful team, more so than Barcelona, Manchester United etc.
Govan became part of Glasgow. Most intelligent football fans would recognise that I was talking about league titles considering the OP mentions league titles. What's with the beel today, Donny?
Well, in this context, it is. Govan was incorporated into the city of Glasgow in 1912. It became an area of Glasgow as opposed to a town joined onto Glasgow.
You implied no such thing Afro Boy. Your thread title suggests Rangers are the most successful team in Scotland outside of Glasgow. I merely offered an alternative opinion that winning European trophies outweighs domestic baubles. Hence Aberdeen are the most successful team outside of Glasgow.
