I'd fancy us to smash Liverpool at home this season. Surely we'd be up and running by 29 Dec?

He is certainly up for the game today - hit the post, possible penalty shout, great play all round.

possibly, but imo i think throwing him in from the start is a big risk..he doesnt look strong enough and can see liverpool burning him out.

Watching the game i cant believe they loaned Carroll out and are playing Borini or whatever his name is.

I can see Rodgers gone by Xmas

Seems a bit lightweight to me and keeps trying to take on every player rather than sometimes using a simple pass. Still talented but for me too young and lightweight.

    Subs

    1 Jones
    14 Henderson
    16 Coates
    19 Downing
    23 Carragher
    33 Shelvey
    34 Kelly

this is Liverpool's bench now looking at that who can get them goals and change games i can't see no one looks like they are gonna have big problems

You write a thread on our board saying you are discussing Sterling and be glad to hear what we have to say, then the whole thread bar about 2 comments is about how crap Liverpool are?

Sterling has been brilliant in pre-season and the start of this year for us. He won't play every game, even though he deserves to on current form, because otherwise he'll get burnt our come second half of the season.

He's young and exciting though, something we have been missing out wide for a number of years. Going to be a brilliant player and him and Oxlade-Chamberlain playing out wide for England in 4 years time could be exciting <ok>

Unless Liverpool can pull something out of this game in the last 10 mins, Brendan Rogers is really going to be under the cosh. They really need a big strong boy like Andy Carroll to win balls in the air, like he did for West Ham yesterday.

The only people he'll be under the cosh from are opposition fans and the media. Liverpool fans know he needs time to implement his ideas and need a few seasons before we start becoming a consistant top 4 team again.

That's a reasonable comment to be fair.

When Liverpool fans realize they're not a big Club anymore and have to build their way back up to that status, then they'll get places.

However, if they keep living in cloud cuckoo land, it'll be another twenty-odd years before they win the title.

Difference is Roy brought players like Konchesky, Poulson, Cole, Brad Jones - 4 players no where near good enough for Liverpool and we played dire awful football. Cole who we are still trying to get rid of but no one will take because of his ridiculous 90k a week wages.

Compare that to Allen & Borini who have good potential (Allen, Shelvey & Sterling have been the standout performances so far) then things are already looking better.

We no top 4 was pushing it for this year and we would have needed 7 out of 9 from our first 3 games to stand a chance but I think we all knew 5th/6th was a more reasonable position this year and another good cup run in FA/Europa.

Again, a very good post. It takes time to build teams. It'll take us time to build for mid-table and for Liverpool to build for top six.

    Rodgers needs time.
