Best player in the PL this weekend apparently, never mind though, he can't cut it up there anyway and I'd much rather have Diouf. <doh>

I think many Championship players could hack it in the Prem, as long as they are surrounded by the right players in their team. Snoddy did look excellent today - not seen him do that for us in a very long time - but I also thought Howson and Johnson were brill too.

Reminded me of the occasional game when they were really on song for us, but it just did not happen enough. I guess it is all about the whole team, not just 3 of them though, and it all matters about the manager too

Does this mean Leeds fans are starting to feel some love for us at last ?
At least your getting your wish, to watch your hero's play in the prem ?

Snoddy's problem for us was he lost interest, he lost interest because he felt betrayed and lied to (rightly so that he felt that way) by the chairman. If promises had been kept and we hadn't sold the likes of Gradel and Howson and we had brought some quality in rather than crap like O'Dea, Forrssell, Mika, Paynter and all the others I can't care to mention or remember it probably would have been oh so different and we would have seen him on top form for 90% of the season.

Sorry to have to say it but with the fans blind loyalty to the club Bates will go nowhere, why should he. He has a nice little earner here. Barring a few shouts of Bates out what do the fan base do to get rid of him...sweet FA. The fans who stay away get slated but to me they are the ones trying the hardest to get this vile man out of the club. Like Eire says who next to be sold to balance the books. <steam>

The main problem, and one I was hinting at, is that the overwhelming reaction amongst our fans is always to blame and belittle the player, which makes Bates think he can keep getting away with it. The buck always seems to stop with the "greedy", "not interested", "not good enough anyway" player who we apparently have a better replacement for in the squad, and for as long as that happens Bates will keep knowing he can get away with it. Combine that with the blind optimism this season and the frowning on any anti-Bates chanting and we've almost reached the stage where many have given up.

Don't think we are blaming the players Simon, they did what was best for them showed no loyalty to us.We owe them nothing, once they've gone they are just ******s that play for other teams.Don't also think its blind optimism, most try to hope for the best, otherwise you turn into a manic depressive victor meldrew type.some on here come over as only happy when we lose,so they can say [told you so].The abuse that some people get for trying to put a positive spin on things is very sad to see.as is people slagging others off for going to support their team [not ken bates].

I don't think anyone could blame either Howson or Snoddy for moving to the premiership. Both players gave us great service. Two class players and I hope some day we may be in a position to tempt them back both financially and hopefully being in a better league position than Norwich

Sorry Eire, once they jump ship for me its a one way ticket.
I actually watched the whole game out here and the 3 who left us looked well settled in, it just pisses me off.

Simon, do me and majority of us a favour and get rid that stupid statement of "Warnock & Diouf out" theres a good chap

Probably right. However, we've gotten rid of a bucketload of class players in last ten years and we've survived .... barely. The tide wil surely turn some day and we can begin poaching other clubs talent

Football's all about buying and selling players, every season. We should not worry about it so much, especially as we have the potential to be more solid and do just as well as when those players were here.

    League 1 - season 1 - failed in play-offs
    League 1 - season 2 - failed in play-off semis
League 1 - season 3 - scraped into the 2nd auto spot when it should have been nailed on after the first half
Championship - season 1 - failed to get in play-offs when it should have been nailed on
Championship - season 2 - again fell away badly, mid-table and mediocre
Championship - season 3 - we now have none of those players, and it does not look like we will fare worse

Everyone has moaned that our defence has been the problem. Yet some of those same rubbish defenders we had, or chose not to take because they were not good enough, have gone on to storm the Championship and play in the Prem.

My take is that the defence has never been protected by the midfield, but also was not hard enough.

I now think we have that, if we use our players right. I don't think we are using the right players in the reight way at the moment, in the same way that we failed to use Bradley Johnson in his best position until halfway through his last season with us, when he was switched to holding midfield.

We have a good nucleus now. We have shown we can attack and be creative as well as defend, but we have also shown that if we don't play certain players in certain ways, we can be woeful.

I hope NW gets it right. One criticism of him from other clubs is that his tactics are bad. And his substitutions are nonsensical at times. Maybe he sees something different than everyone else, which is why he is successful overall.

We now just need that good loan signing as the icing on the cake. If we can't get the right player in, I say we keep our money and go with what we have, instead of blowing it on kids that just need experience.

Bates will be lapping that up. Let's blame the players, not the circumstances that forced them to leave.

And I don't trust or respect either Warnock or Diouf, that's my opinion and I'm standing by it.

Some people can be incredibly fickle.

johnson left because he knew he could get more money, didn't deserve a big pay increase with his very average performances for Leeds.Howson owed us a lot, injury problems and stood by him when he was crap.first time his form picked up he jumped ship.Snodgrass did what was best for him.

Not blaming them, but none were forced out.All norwich players now so don't give a **** about them.
