Surprised nobody else has mentioned it yet, but the elbow to Faye's face is why we need someone like Derry in the squad to exact some retribution on players like that when the bumbling officials manage to miss it. Not quite sure how the linesman missed it. About 30 seconds to a minute before that Davies had been challenged on the halfway line and lost the ball, and rather than his usual going after it to try and win it back he walked away giving himself a "ffs". It was obvious he was losing his head, and we barely had time to finish saying a "cute" team would give him a little knock to try and get a reaction and him sent off before he went up with Faye and smashed him in the face. The linesman should have been able to see him losing control and been watching for sly jabs going either way when he went up for the ball.
I said to my lad that it was mightily ironic that Coyle was moaning about Faye's goal due to the physical nature of the challenge on their keeper. He said he didn't know what ironic meant which bitterly disappointed me. He's now locked in his room reading a dictionary. Back on track, Kevin Davies has been doing it for years. What goes around comes around trotter boy so **** you and **** Coyle and his oversized gnashers. UTT.
Davies has made a career out of using his elbows. He even had the cheek to complain when PB pointed out he was elbowing people when we played them a few years back. In the same game he also managed to make Dawson's shinpad fly off in a wild tackle. He's a nasty little player. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2009/may/18/gary-megson-bolton-hull-kevin-davies Surely the solution to stop people moaning that you're elbowing them in the face, is to stop elbowing people in the face? What a prick. Dirty players are one thing, but dirty players who moan about everyone else just need to **** right off.
Paul McKenna would of got him back, but wait, he's already suspended for lashing out, I guess when it rains it pours at Hull, and when he shines, boy does it shine
About Faye's goal it looked more like the Bolton player took his own keeper out and Faye didn't even touch him
Correct. A clean Faye header and the defender indeed fell on his own keeper. Davies has been doing that(using his elbows) all his career. Just what he does. Faye had KD in his pocket the whole game. No wonder KD was taken off.
There's strikers that use their elbows when they jump that you're never going to get the decision for. Then there's players who after they've jumped violently elbow people in the face. If it were the former I'd have been complaining about him for the whole game, as would Faye, rather than the two of us having both got particularly pissed off at the lineman not giving that incident, and Faye when he got up going and making his feelings clear to Davies.
Kevin Davis always using his arms and elbows, his goal against Forest was a push with both hands which took the defender out, so he could get his head on the ball to score.
All defenders know what they are in for when they come up against Kevin Davies. Faye won the war though.
