I put him in on the basis he had a very good game, broke their game up in midfield and put a good half dozen passes into great attacking plays. It was a good display. To suggest he was poor, is in my mind showing a lack of understanding of what was happening on the pitch, but we are all entitled to our own views.

Spot on!!! The one two with Aluko in the first half, that nearly resulted in a goal, was class!

I'd agree with the above. He wasn't spectacular but did his job pretty well IMO.
The fact we didn't get overrun in the middle of the park is testament to his performance when you look who he had in there with him.

I see Olifinjana is dividing opinion again. I have to say I'm still in the 'he's incredibly lazy and the biggest fanny in our team' camp. I didn't see the one-two with Aluko someone mentioned above so can't comment on that but I didn't see him do much more than duck out of challenges and be slow today. I thought he was the nearest thing we had to a weak link.

This is the hardest MotM vote yet, I could make a case for most of the players on the pitch today.

    1) Simpson
    2) Faye
    3) Chester

Amos, Dudgeon, Elmo, Quinn, Koren and Aluko might all have got in there but those 3 edge it for me.

    1. Quinn
    2. Amos
    3. Simpson

I thought Quinn was superb even when he didn't have the ball made some great runs and just drew men away, superb player, great signing. Amos literally made sure that the height that Bolton had was non exsistent at all set pieces, he was superb and his distribution was excellent. Simpson basically gave their defenders one of the hardest times they will have this season.

Amos' punching from crosses was literally the best I can ever recall.

I think he punched the ball three or four times and every time mullered it.

He also made a very underrated reflex save in the first half, in short he looks like a very promising keeper.

Hard to pick a third, i'd probably have Simpson, Chester and Amos level.

He did, but he was the weakest of the three centre backs and I didn't put Faye in either, too many good performances today for him to get into the top three.

Spot on. The man is a defensive liability. He can make pretty passes to wide open players and play the simple give and go. you learn those skills in junior football ffs. He cant tackle to save his life...backs off every 50/50 ball...is as slow as molasses...cant cover back. Definitely poor today.

if you have time, play the whole of the first half from the Donny game on Tigers Player. See how many times you hear the words: "Olifinjana breaks up another Doncaster move" or "Olifinjana once again with a toe-in...." or Olifinjana spreads the ball nicely..." or words to any of those effects.

Olifinjana can be the difference between an average midfield running around like headless chickens to no overall avail this season, or an effective unit balanced unit with a strong holder and ball players all around him. Olifinjana has shown his class in the last two games. Long may Mr Bruce motivate to get even better from him.
