We LOST. What match were you watching? If the tactics were SPOT ON, what were the tactics - to LOSE like we did? Then, mission accomplished for you, eh?
Would someone please turn that fu*king record off? Bleedin' thing has been stuck on the same noise all day..........
We were one hit from Nelson away from going level and then wouldn't have been hit on the break. You can't blame MH if a player fails to take chances that his tactics create! Good job, vast improvement and more to come. People need to get a grip!
leaving most of your flair players out. ye thats clever. did hughes not watch how well southampton played aganst man c 2 weeks ago.
Are you for real? We played with a new squad low on confidence away from home at the champions, and you expect us to win?! They scored from a non corner and a lucky deflection/shot from Tevez. Wait, let me get this straight. You're saying that the fact we lost means are tactics were incorrect. Thus only a draw/win would indicate a tactically sound performance? You're a nutter. And for the record, If ferdinand says he's okay to continue and looks fine, then we aren't going to take him off. I think everyone thought he'd recovered up until the mistake for the goal. Any response to our run of decent defending at the end of last season by the way..?
I'm not peddling anything - I'm stating the obvious, and mind you, Hughes is peddling the same non-tactic crap in defense as he always overlooks it. The only reason that we MAY have looked better is certain individuals played better than the, some-might-say, the poorer quality players we had last season. The individual quality was slightly better today (Granero, for example) than last year - however, with the poorer squad we had last season, we actually played better as a team against this pretty much the same Man City side from the end of last season.
So you couldn't see any tactics at work in the shape of defence today, or during our run of good defending performances last season?(which you still haven't adressed) That performance was at the end of last season in a mainly gelled side. It's imcomparable one a group of strangers have produced 3 games into this season.
Yeah, we defended brilliantly at the end of LAST season. We won the League Cup in 1967 as well. Hughes has no tactical nous. He proved that when he took off Hill and replaced him with SWP in the Swansea game. The man is a **** up waiting to happen. How long shall we give him 4 games, 5, 10, 20? No one has convinced me. Please give me a reason to believe.
Would that be the same as you telling everybody on a Saturday night's pub crawl looking totally pished up that you're OK to drive so we let you, just because you say you are OK? Then we actually see Ferdi indicate that yeah, he had better come off, only after the goal had been scored. If I was a manager, I would have taken him the minute that he had got off the ground, ran back on to the pitch as he held his arm and shoulder into his chest as he ran off the first 30 seconds. That's what a manager does? Take the players' WORD for it, rather than decide, from SEEING how he's hobbled to one side as he runs, just because the player insisted he wants to carry on, to let him keep going? It's bloody obvious, if I was a caring person at all with any sense, that you know what, yeah, he might be saying he's OK and WANTS to carry on, but yeah, he's not looking 100%, so he can be examined properly and also to keep the squad on the pitch at 100%. Oh yeah and we lost again, this time worse, than at the end of last season when we had supposedly gelled a bit with poorer quality players, against a team that had gelled brilliantly.
Come on people lets be honest we know today was going to be hard city have only dropped 2 points at home all of last season and this season. And apart from the first 15 mins i thought some of the link up play was outstanding, Granero and Faurlin look really good for playing for the first time together. The defence looked ok and i think with Mbia coming in there will get better. People saying why did he drop Cisse well here is why Johnson will put a shift in and not stop chasing unlike Cisse. Hughes knew city would have lots of possesion at the back and he got it spot on with Johnson and Zamora today both worked their socks off. If that is the first time of playing together then i am excited coz we looked very good on the ball at times. Yes don't get me wrong we do need to work on things but that will come very happy sometimes you have to look deeper then the result and look at the performance.
I don't want an argument, but what is your point? I need convincing and your post does nothing to do that.
