Losing 3-1 away against the league champions is not too bad imo. I didn't expect much from this match but it sounded like we had a very good second half, with some good performances. Bodes well for the rest of the season.
ESPN commentators worst and most biased i've ever heard (at least the Scottish one), few refereeing errors in Man Citys favour. That's my complaining done, anyways, we've definitely got much better I reckon, had a few great chances (Nelsen) and matched them for much of the game. Still, nothing to show for it. Also, Tevez is the least likeable excuse for a human being ever.
Thought Johnson was really good too. Faurlin is playing phenominally well for someone who hasn't had a PL game for practically a year.. Fingers crossed the tight hamstring is nothing serious!
I had my hands over my face everytime he was on the ball, waiting for the "no one likes to see that happen" commentary!
Tactics first half = Rubbish! You can't invite that amount of pressure and expect to get something from a game. Hughes needs to sort it out and fast
Have difficulty agreeing with you on Fabio. He wasn't where he should be as a full back, and was caught out too many times for my liking. Granero looks amazing. Great to see Ali back. Not convinced on SWP and Johnson as starters, but great opportunities for subs
In future games, we have to take our chances when they are sitting on the plate, especially in a game like this where pickings are slim. Despite being out-played for much of the game (especially 1st half), if we had taken our chances, we could have come out of this game with a 3-2 result in our favour.
What would you have done differently? Thought we eased ourself into the game with an unfamiliar squad low on confidence, using similar tactics to those which almost succeeded for us last year. Fabio was good, Johnson was excellent, and SWP was good
