I thought once they settled down they looked very good going forward John also peppered a lot of crosses into the box and held the ball up well. Wish we had Hobbs available for this one. Like everybody else I don't want too much defense but maybe v Bolton it might be a good policy.
people talk as if its the same as a back 4, with another centre back squashed in for no reason... it isnt, the back 3 effectively cover most the work of a normal 4, with a bit of help from the wing backs when under pressure....who then get forward when we have the ball.. it should be more attacking then a 4-4-2 as you have 7 going forward instead of 6, and only having 3 at the back can be seen as more risky then keeping 4 back there, gives you width, while allowing plenty in midfield to not get overrun and also 2 up top, im interested to see how it works at home, it might work it might fail, but id rather we had a go at something new.
Forest started like a house of fire, and let Bolton back into the game once the took their foot of the gas. If we can keep the pressure on them, then we can get the win, but if we let them dictate, then I fear the worse.
We must attack today, for me. Bruce has spoken a lot about getting goals, and being more direct. So I hope we are. With Aluko & Koren in the side (and hopefully a strike force that fancies it today) we should be looking to cause them problems at home.
It will be interesting to see whether the service is better to the forwards with Elmo and Quinn providing the crosses.
Everyone keep an eye on Alex Bruce when he comes back on to the pitch after half time please. This is the when he normally decides to show everyone his pre-match meal, I understand. Out of his mouth, with extra retching. Feel free to tell him, in no uncertain terms, that it simply isn't on! Aside from that, I shall not be getting on his back.
I'm hungry, and it's Alex Bruce's fault. I just couldn't manage to turn up with a full stomach knowing full well he would be emptying his at half time. They say you lead by example, and I would duly follow his lead. I hope from now on he is restricted to second half sub appearances so I am permitted the luxury of breakfast and lunch on a Saturday, especially after a stomach full of beer on a Friday night, it is an important part of my day which has rudely been stolen from me by Alex Bruce.
Genuine Q here guys. I see your playing a 3-5-2, something we tried last season and i think worked well but we didnt stick with it. You seem to be saying itsnt working, is that because of the system do you think or the players not suiting the system? Good luck today... never know, even prossy might score!!
Also, does Bruce play becuase his dad is manager or is there no one better on the bench? Saturdays arent as fun when you dont kick off at 3...
