What I don't understand about Easter is why are we supposed to eat fish today, and whats the signifigance of chocolate eggs?Did I miss something in Sunday School? Did the Romans slap Jesus with a Cod before they nailed him up? Did the chuck eggs at him? Or did they sit round under the cross having a fish supper and pickled eggs or something? I don't see how these two random food items relate to nailing a beardy rabble rouser to a great big piece of wood. Any ideas?

It's the "Feeding the multitude", the miracle where Jesus fed 5,000 people with just 5 chocolate eggs and 2 fish.

It's the thought that counts, it's not like he was a gormet chef or anything, he was a healer/carpenter.

the chocolate egg represents the cave jesus was left in? is what i heard? it's chocolate because it's easily sold to gullible kids and parents who like nothing more than these over hyped corporate 'holidays' that we seem to have too many of (easter, halloween, christmas, all of them, valentines day too. they're all daft)

i don't do easter. hate it. not a fan of milk chocolate, so i just found all the easter eggs i used to get bought too sickly. i just tell my parents not to bother. told the girlfriend not to bother too but apparently she's got me one. hopefully it's dark chocolate, otherwise it's gonna be sitting in my room getting warm and horrible for quite a while...

You're not supposed to eat ANY meat on any of the Fridays in lent (the 40 days before Easter) fish was not deemed as meat so was acceptable to eat.
Christians eat fish instead of meat as a form of penance on Good Friday. The traditional Easter meal, on Sunday, is generally ham.fat ****s and lonely spinsters do not eat fish at Easter they eat chocolate eggs and praise the lord of commercialism (this does not apply to children).

Apparently the egg symbolises rebirth and before cadburys hijacked Easter people used to paint chicken eggs and hide the ****ers so poor little kids hunted all morning only to be conned with the reward of a hard boiled egg.

it's all bollocks if you ask me

Wasnt Easter a pagan holiday of rebirth after the cold winter. To symbolise the flowers growing and newborn Lambs and chicks thus the egg.
