A team who has lost their opening three games has never stayed up in the Premier League. Oh.

2-1 United. A bright start and a 1-0 Saints lead at half, followed by the patented second-half surge to erase the deficit, and a "well, it was coming" goal after the 70th minute.

How is it different to lose to Man City, Wigan and Man U in consecutive games than one in August, one in September and one in October...each match still worth 3 points. It affects confidence but we have to trust NA to keep team morale up. One game at a time.

I would have been more confident if Man U had not lost their previous match.

If The Don pulls off the Ramirez deal in time tomorrow, I reckon he and the new blokes should do a lap of honour around the pitch on Sunday, (before the game obviously!).

Fergie's started the mind games on us already! "Nigel Adkins has done a great job there. They have every chance of staying in the league."

    Must be nervous ;)

Our team will be fired by not only playing United but also playing for their places.

    Team I'd play would be:
Same GK and defence. I'm assuming Yoshida is going to have to train with the defence a while before playing.

Morgan, Davis, Lallana, Ramirez (RW), Rodriguez (ST), Mayuka (LW)

I think you should always do what your opponent leasts want you to do. They'll want to pass the ball out the back and dominate the game. This will be so much harder with Rodriguez starting up top instead of Lambert as he'll be able to put in a shift for the side. And we'll have more pace for the counter in the first half. With Lambert coming on at 60 minutes and hopefully making a similar impact to the City game. Really hoping to see Ramirez and Mayuka start this. Cannot continue to shove Rodriguez LW where he is out of position.

Since Ramirez is ineligible and international break I'd play Puncheon on the right

Yoshida and Ramirez will definitely not play (Ramirez not even eligible as not signed in time). Not sure if the same is true for Ramirez as it is for Yoshida (although I assume it is), will not even join up with the squad until after the international break as both are playing for their countries. Mayuka could play in theory.
