I think we all want be environmentally friendly as possible. But reading this thread, how many times can you recycle the same three puns? It makes pretty Grizzly reading, and I am not going to Panda to your request for anymore. In fact I shall do the Polar opposite.
I think this will be a really tough match which, if the form book is correct, we will get nothing out of. Given that Barnard is now missing, I think a draw would be a great result. Huddersfield will been MK Dons tonight and go into second place. Hopefully this won't phase us too much. Huddersfield aren't going to drop many points between now and the end of the season and I feel Peterborough shouldn't be written off either albeit they have the biggest mountain of the three teams in contention for the second spot. Wonder if anyone else had the same concerns as me in that although we have a large squad, there are a handful of players that are so instrumental to our success that injuries to them mean that their replacement will impact more significantly than if the fringe players had been better. The likes of N'Guessen , Forte and Connolly may be able to contribute goals in the odd game, but it is equally true that they are not consistent and are as likely to have a shocker. So far, Forte seems a waste of money. There is something of the "Chicken George" Lawrence about him, in my opinion!
To be fair, N'Guessan, Forte and Connolly haven't had a chance to be consistent. When the going gets tough, the tough get going. Now is the chance for every player to step up.
I think that this will turn out to be a hard fought 2-1 win. Lallana to open the scoring, murray will dive and get a penalty for them to equalise and then Lambert will head in the winner in the last 5 mins. To be honest as long as we can match or do better than what huddersfield will do at brighton next week then i think 2nd place should be near on guaranteed but knowing saints it will go to the wire with us sealing promotion on the last day.
Just noticed that Brighton are unbeaten at home this season. I'd settle for a draw especially if Huddersfield drop points at MK today. Think it'll be Lambo & Guly will start up front with Connolly coming on in the second half. PS Happy Easter Saints fans
I've been fairly happy with Forte so far. He doesn't seem like the most skillfull footballer in the world, but he's got pace and he gets himself into the right positions. Considering he was quite cheap, I've got no complaints with him.
I think we will lose 4-1 and then get defeat and conceding goals out of our system in time for the last few games. I wouldnt mind getting badly beaten for wins in the remaining matches.
Are you all protecting yourself from pain? Of course Brighton can win. Of course we can win. Of course it can be a draw. We are 2nd to Brighton, not in the relegation zone. We need this; it is winnable; we will win it.
I'm thinking that we've got a great chance of beating brigton tomorrow but Adkins has to play Forte. Couldn't understand why he hasn't played more specially after the 2 goals gainst MK Dons. 2-1 saints
The performance last Saturday showed why Forte shouldn't start. When he scored the two goals against Orient, I think he only touched the ball about 3-4 times. The run in will be nail-biting. We need to get something out of the match tomorrow but I fear we will lose handsomely. As stated, Brighton haven't lost at home all season and they shouldn't concede this record to a squad decimated by injuries. On the subject of stats, the number of games without loss ahcieved by Huddersfield is hugely impressive - I think they have conceded about 9 goals too in a preiod that stretches back to the beginning of February. Although we have a game in hand against a woeful and depressed Plymouth, Huddersfield will not drop many points in the run in and we will need to ensure we collect as many as possible. Despite the game in hand, I feel Huddersfield's perfomances ad ability to grind out results even when they slip behind put them in a better position to secure the 2nd place than Saints. What worries me is if we go to the play-offs as Peterborough will surely win that if they don't pip saints and Hudderfield to the runner's up position. With so many players out injured, I feel we are almost underdogs despite currently holding the second automatic place. Some of the confident comments made above seem very premature with the number of matches left to play.
Ian you need a This is still in our hands. We can lose one game if Huddersfield win all their games and still go up. If not, we can still win the play-offs. Do you think Posh are confident about beating either us or Huddersfield. We could be in for a bumpy ride, but it's not slash your throat time yet.
Yeah I hope I am, But you may shock and win by a greater score line, You never know, it is football ( May be pointing out the obvious there)
I'd love to see us win but I think it's unlikely. Even if they take their collective feet off the pedal, they are by far the team of the season. Having said that, we have much more to play for. No prediction from me today. I don't want to appear negative. Whoops, too late. Here's hoping. COYS
Squeaky bum time. Lose and for me it'll go down to the last day with us needing to win and hoping for Hudds to draw. Win and I reckon we could climb 3 points ahead of Hudds at Plymouth. I really want us to win. The injuries have taken their toll and we'll be putting out a much weaker team than the one that played them earlier in the season. If we play our hearts out I can see us sneaking it 1-0, but strangely I'm assigned to defeat. And **** optimism and pessimism, I just want our team promoted.
