According to the EADT today it could be as many as twenty of Jewells targets have "slipped through the net" so wouldnt you think that possibly somebody would tumble that theyre not doing things quite right? I mean twenty for christs sake! Transfer dealings? business? more like a dogs bloody breakfast conducted by morons with a dont know but wont be told attitude and theyre the worst kind, weve all met them at some time or another and now theyre in control of ITFC. I dont mind these pompous arseholes making prats of themselves but when they make our club and it is our club into a laughing stock then I really do mind, what to do about it? I dont know. Rant over
FM, Jewell gave an interview the other week that said he has never experienced a summer like it for deals going wrong. Some players turned us down, some clubs accepted our offer then decided against it. I think one player got injured and we pulled out. I think we have had a mix of bad planning and bad luck so far.
You're right FM There can be no excuses for not getting in 2 Centre Backs when he's had 4 months in which to do it and just to cap it all off he gets rid of our only recognised cover in that position! How moronic is that? How many times has Jewell said that he has learned by his mistakes in relying too heavily on loans? Now it looks like we will have to muddle through another season with a poor defence! Perhaps the new masterplan is to do a BFJ and try and outscore the opposition! If only!

I dare say most clubs have missed out on players - thats the nature of the game but your right we should have a short list of players we want and an idea of if we can get them here. Just because you cant sign players 365 days a year you can still speak to clubs/ agents and see if the player is interested/ available.
It is truly shocking that a so called professional football club does not have a fully fit specialist right back or back up central defender on its books! And before you start Edwards never has been or ever will be a proper right back! Jewell said after last season that he was too reliant on loans and fast forward 12 months and low and behold we already have 2 loans with the view to getting more! Either the guy suffers from dementia or he's a fool!
agree JWM on 99% of it but it could be the case that Jewell wants to sign players but the club wont release the funds to sign them. We dont release the amount of players we have if there is a decent budget I hate Edwards at RB so you have no arguments from me. Its been my biggest grumble since we sold Wright and that was bloody years back Whatever the reasons, whether it is Jewell not wanting players (I cant believe this - all managers are forever moaning about a lack of players - even Man City done it the other week) or a lack of cash - it certainly seems worrying.

Sorry tractor bhoy but I cant accept that in excess of twenty players "slipping through the net" was a result of bad planning and bad luck, 3 or 4 well ok but not player after player. Until we get an experienced "football man" to conduct negotiations then this ignorant fool will continue to screw things up, we all want the best for our club but look at this chumps record in fouling up straightforward deals.
FM - I would say bad planning and incompetence are the same thing - I agree with everything you have said except Ive worded it differently!
Too many deals have fallen through over personal terms. I even get the feeling that Delaney asked to leave, rather than being pushed out the door. “It will be loans with a view to buy,” said Jewell, when asked whether fans would take to a side filled with temporary additions. “That’s the ideal situation that we are looking for" No. The ideal situation is to buy your players DURING the window to give stability to the team, not hope you can get loans who may turn out good enough to keep. With the way recent results have gone anybody coming here for three months is going to be thankful when they can leave again.
You guys remind me of Norwich the season we went down. Too many loan players that did not give **** about the club.
We had many people say that last season and it didn't materialise in the end. To be fair we aren't the only club loaning alot of players, everyone seems to be doing it. Look at the list of transfers that happened yesterday, over half of them seemed to be loans and it wasn't even the loan window!! Plus all of ours are year loans so far and 2 of them their deals are up at the end of the season so they are as such playing for a deal!!
