Would be very underwhelmed if that was the case Krome, hoping for a flurry of activity like last season. Though as mentioned earlier in the thread I just wish it could be like the old days where we identified a player and got him, no procastination.
Yay a clip of Arsene pulling in the training ground! i wonder how many times that'll get played throughout the day.
A bit hopeful I know, but last year pretty much all of the people we signed on deadline day went under the radar until the last moments. So I wouldn't be too disheartened by the lack of rumours.
"1138: We've been given word from Arsenal that, as things stand, it is unlikely there will be any major arrivals before the transfer deadline." BBC
It's funny that last season the team got stick for leaving it until the last minute, now all the doom mongers have come out saying this is the worst transfer season ever. The truth is if all 3 of Cazorla, Podolski, Giroud were finalized today everyone would be ecstatic and would consider it a successful transfer window. But they didn't score in 2 games and now it's all doom and gloom. Very interesting how they are not compared to RvP at the same timeframe last season but they compare him at his peak. You do remember how frustrating/wasteful RvP was at the start of last season right?
I remember RVP missing some absolute sitters even last season . We forget them because he always made good before the end of the game by slotting one in .
We needed those 3 players even if Persie and song had stayed. Wenger will try and claim that our new signings are Wilshere and Diaby
It is a rumour thread. If it was an actual signings thread, it would have been very quiet for a few weeks!
We were 19 points behind Manchester clubs. We needed to strengthen the squad, even if RVP and Song had stayed, to have a chance to catch up with them. Instead we sold our best player to ManU and yet again have not reinvested. So our ambitions are clear this season - CL place is like a trophy. But the board must be happy: another transfer window - another N millions in their coffers.
Depressingly for a number of seasons it has been pounds over points. IF the fair play rules were going to be strictly policed then I would of said we are doing the right thing, but the dreamer in you wishes it was us making the signings.
Tottenham lose a key player, they go out straight out and offer £22m for a replacement. Why are we incapable of doing the same?
We have done some business on deadline day! Park Chu Young has gone on season-long loan to Celta Vigo.
as it stands, we have no hope in hell of realistically challenging for the title with this squad, we've made good signings, but not enough, considering we lost 2 of our key players.
I thought Wenger had objections to clubs using the loan system for clubs to loan out or in experienced players ... he's said something about how it is not fair that the player (in this case Essien) could damage the loaning clubs ( in this case Chelsea's ) competitors thus being of benefit to them but can not play against his parent club.
Park deal wrapped up, Bendtner looking like he may be goign to Juventus? Will Chamakh be our back-up striker? Will walcott get a chance to play centraly this season? Or are we going to be bringing in another striker?
