It seems that every time I pop out to walk the dog I come back to find that we are close to signing someone and have been linked to another three or four. At first it was the likes of Nelsen - good, strong and dependable. Then we moved on to the likes of Park - that really perked everyone up. Now its Cesar and Granero! Add to that the imminent (hopefully) departure of that unnecessary pantomime sideshow called Barton. So now what? The dog's crossing his legs, we've got to go out soon. What will have happened by the time we get back? At this rate Nelsen will have to be classed as one of QPR longest serving squad members.
Kjaer would be my dream signing, hopefully Mbia.... im think we'll see two new players come in by the end of the day. Would like to see a couple leaving us aswell please let it be hulse
SSN said that MH and team are on way to Manchester so i reckon only M'bia today as Carvalho seems to be a dead deal due to greed.
One, possibly two CB's to come in and i'd be ecstatic with our business this window. Hopefully a few will leave too: Betty DJ Hulse Derry Young (Still not sure what happened here.) Murphy If not by the end of the day then hopefully on loan in September.
Worrying if true. The investment is impressive and very welcome but it may be in vain if we don't strengthen our defence.
Im sure Phil Beard etc will be wrapping up the deals today, while MH gets the team ready for city....
MH is no longer involved in any negotiations.....so him and the team can go off to Manchester while the backroom guys tie up any deals.
Thought M'bia was a CD? However i get your point. 2 defenders would be great. I just have the feeling that after the farce of last seasons running in at HQ at 11:59 with players and the comments that it would not happen again, i think maybe only 1 to be confirmed before 6PM.
We've officially signed that Sam Magri from Portsmouth. He's a centre back (I think) but only 18. http://www.portsmouthfc.co.uk/LatestNews/news/Magri-Joins-QPR-3645.aspx
This is my concern. I think M'bia is meant for CDM, but that he's been playing CB lately is a big plus. Really hope we get Kjaer in, but read somewhere it seemed to have gone cold, if it was ever warm
31/08/2012 by West London Sport QPR are expected to make a final attempt to push through the signing of Tottenham centre-back Michael Dawson before the transfer window closes later today. Rangers were hopeful of persuading the 28-year-old to join them ahead of tonight’s deadline even though he has appeared reluctant to make the move. But their bid to capture him was dealt a blow on Thursday when the north London club, who had accepted an offer for Dawson, indicated that they are now less inclined to let him go. It follows news that Spurs defender Younes Kaboul will be sidelined for up to four months with a knee injury. Kaboul’s absence means Dawson, who was not in manager Andre Villas-Boas’ first-team plans, may now have a role to play.
And Abramovich's court case verdict comes up today. A possible $6 billion ruling against him! http://uk.reuters.com/article/2012/08/31/uk-britain-russia-oligarchs-idUKBRE87U01820120831
From the BBC French football expert Matt Spiro: "Queens Park Rangers target Stephane Mbia has dismissed reports his transfer from Marseille is stalling because he is asking for too much money. The problem, according to the powerful Cameroon defender, is that the clubs have not yet managed to agree on a fee. "My heart is with Marseille, but my future depends on the bosses of the two clubs," Mbia just tweeted somewhat cryptically. Joey Barton will be keeping his fingers crossed there are no late hitches as the Englishman's loan to the Stade Velodrome is closely linked to Mbia's transfer."
