Actually I'm wrong; it's not a lack of confidence one on one; poor thinking there. It's lack of confidence because he always has that one touch too many...you know what I mean...
Some third rate ****e team, from the ****tiest league in Europe just came and got a draw at Anfield..... I have to laugh at how some people look for the positives, they were hairy bollox bad, and I mean total clueless, talentless ****e, and we were right down there with them. We never appear to transcend the quality of the team we are playing, are we chameleons? Do we simply blend in with the opposition? In training, I would want to yell "STOP!" and point out how not one of the useless ****ers are in a position on the pitch that is of any use to man or monkey.. I'd say "can you see the guy with the ball?" mumble mumble... "Then what is the ****ing use of you?" We seem to play a game of hide and seek, and that is why everyone is passing to absolutely anywhere but one of our players. How do they get it so right against Citeh, but revert to dog ****e rubbish again? Sorry Downing, your as **** at LB as you are on the wing, if you can't kick the ball to a team mate once in a while, we may as well stick you in goal, since Pepe doesn't give a **** any more. We were so bad, I laughed and cheered when they scored, we were so bad it was funny, either that or start crying.
Scary viewing. The standards of Liverpool Football Club must have lowered if a 1-1 draw with Hearts is considered Satisfactory, Spurs reserves dismantled pretty much the same team last year. Lucas has torn a thigh not been diagnosed with cancer FFS
Sorry mate but this is the problem with us internally & beating the Wums. Let's stop talking about a standard (glory years) this team can't match yet. Let's stop talking about opposition teams like we should beat them when we haven't done consistently in years . Seriously how many times do we have to have us saying that after a game before it becomes the "deluded" the twats talk about? Over the last 5 years especially we're like the GOP in the US in flying to the extremes as fans. to fix this; 1) we have to write off every penny spent on a player before this manager; the owners did when sacking Kenny. 2) we have to stop second guessing a manager as if he's already a failure like the last 5 (league wise) 3) we have to stop doing "what if's" with managers been & gone as a grading point for the present manager.grade him on the team he had, what he bought, what he did with the combo over his contract. (NO, & I mean NO whining about how your preference as manager didn't get the same fairness/opportunity; pointless! Start from there: So: Is our manger adopting the right style? Is our manger keeping & buying the right players to accentuate that style? Our our owners being realistic (This year) in their spending vs expectations/targets? After all that what do us as fans think (thinking is with the head not the heart, save that for matches) should be our target on all comps? Mine? League: 4th: FA cup: last stages (semi) COC: quarters ( junior team) Europa: out of group(junior team)
Don't agree with a single word of that. We weren't crap. We did everything right, bar stick the ball in the net more times (ok you could say that's the wole point in football) but the build up play, possssion, passing, composure was all very good. You can tell players are getting used to playing the way BR wants them to play more so every game. Also taking into note we had probably only 5 of the starting 11 playing tonight (Reina, Skrtel, Allen, Gerrard & Suarez) and we had kid makind his debut upfront along with a 17 yer old coming on from the bench I thought it was a good performance. Downing was solid at LB. People ned to get off his back - yes he was poor last season but so were a lot of players. He didn't do anything wrong tonight, defended well (although didn't have much to do) and supported the attack well as well as putting decent crosses in (first half took on is man, and his crossfound Morgan who laid it off to Suarez for example). We had 17 shots, 12 of which were on target and 3 or 4 were very good chances. 11 corners to 1 shows how dominant we were and also had just under 60% possession. Hearts were always going to be bang up for this game - believe it or not, teams still come to Liverpool and see us a a major scalp and end up putting in that extra 10%, especially at Anfield. Hearts came and played to sit back, keep the score 0-0 until 10 minutes to go and try nick a goal which nearly worked perfectly, and it is a great test for us giong forward on how to break down teams that do that. Overal, it was BR's 6th competitive game, and onl his 4th ever game in Europe. We all know it's going take to 1 or 2 years before he really gets the team and style he wants and if we are still mid table in 2 years time and football isn't working then we can judge but he has a long term plan and I for one am genuinely excited about the future of LFC.
I'll ignore you're very obvious WUM attempt in your first paragraph as that was clearly sorted in this thread: Fail Yeah, your team & fans know not a lot about loyalty, being a part of a team; a family. too busy screwing managers, each other & each others wives to bother about that small detail. It's why in 20 years our players names will still be sung and Londoners will be saying "Chelsea? Flowers right??"
The draw was not satisfactory, going through is. Ps Reserves? 01 Gomes 03 Bale (Townsend - 70' ) 04 Kaboul 20 Dawson 28 Walker 32 Assou-Ekotto 07 Lennon 11 Van der Vaart (Huddlestone - 59' ) 21 Kranjcar 29 Livermore 18 Defoe (Pavlyuchenko - 79' )
I can't believe the lengths people will go to to try and make us feel bad about ourselves- really, why do you care so much about our "has-been, mid-table mediocrity"? It was a good result in that we got through, not so good in that we would hope to win by a bigger margin. What are we supposed to do-wring our hands and grind our teeth over it? We are a work in progress, there's still some way to go, but for me the signs are positive. Perennial problem of hitting the net is still there, and we're prone to costly errors. These are the things that have to be worked out, and we've been saying it ad nauseum, but it will take time. And Drogs, if you come on here and say "You were **** tonight" ( and no matter how politely or euphemistically you put it, that is what you meant), can you really expect anything other than a defensive reaction?
For gods sake Drogs: will you accept I do exactly what you do in differentiating between Wums of a team & decent posters? I could try to discuss with district or CoPL but history says its pointless. So WUM here,WUM response!!! I WILL keep reminding you that I don't come on the Chelsea board ever. If I did; it would be for a genuine question or debate. Look back at my posts. Drogs,in my time you've been decent . District has not. Up to you if you think I'm extreme of this board....
Lads, let's give it a rest now. I don't mind the match being discussed but no more winding up, and no more reacting to it.
Decent game to watch, I thought. My initial concerns with our ability to score was well-founded. Quite simply: we need an out-and-out striker. We need that 'fox-in-the-box'. Suarez is great but it is unlikely that he'll get 20+ goals in the league this season. That being said, thought Shelvey and Allen were brilliant, the make shift back four did okay, and Gerrard is looking better each game. Also, we're through to the next round. The Arsenal game will be very interesting.
I'm not even here to WUM, I have little interest in the ongoings at your club or the Europa League in general. Who are Liverpool to us anyway? I just came here to express an opinion which is that a 1-1 draw at home to Hearts is not something to be running to hills over. Championship and League 1 sides would be disappointed to draw at home with Hearts. My main issue though was the cringeworthy thing re: Lucas. He's. A fantastic player but he's pulled a thigh not been diagnosed with terminal illness.
This has been our worst start to a season since 1962-1963, our manager then lost his first two games as boss. In Brendan I trust.
