I'd avoid using that <doh> smiley, if I were you. He's not saying anything like that.

Carroll should stick around at Liverpool, come the new year Roy Rodgers will be gone and the new Mouser boss (Redknapp) will make him his No.1 striker.

  3. That was my thinking exactly.

In all likelihood, Carroll's agent is saying to him "Look, Andy, that muppet (ie. Roy Rodgers) isn't going to be around for very long. Just bide your time, son. Sit on the bent with Fat Joe, and take your fat pay-check at the end of every week. The Mousers won't blame you for it. They'll all be too busy ripping another arsehole for the muppet upstairs."

That's what I reckon he'll be telling Carroll, and that he'll be using those exact words, too.

  4. BBC reporting that Carroll is having a medical at the Spammers tomorrow in advance of a season-long loan.

Personally disappointed - not cos I want him at Spurs, but in the knowledge that he will definitely improve them!!!

  5. Does this mean that they are going to be getting Dempsey?

He'll definitely be an improvement for the Mousers over Carroll.

As YV pointed out..you obviously delibertly twisted what i meant,so i will make it simple.

Clubs cannot complain when they offer players huge contracts..even though it is clear they are not worth nowhere near that amount...and then when the player is surplus..he refuses to leave because he will have to take a wage cut.....Carrol on 80k a week after dishing out 35mill for him.....id be deluded aswell Sir Red <ok>

Agreed he will improve them a lot, but disagree, as I would love him in our squad.

    I agree with HIAG.
    Donkey Carrol is a mule.

Basically, he just got lucky for 1/2 a season, and was then over hyped by a set of press folk who were looking for their next Allan Shearer at the time. Now don't get me wrong, I'm no fan of the Shearers of this world but Carrol ?..... No thankyou..... Not even on loan.

Don't waste precious transfer time considering this guy. He is no way near the type of striker we are looking for.

Completely disagree that Carroll is a donkey, I think this is a great signing for West Ham, and a player that we should have got in instead of keeping Defoe, assuming we are keeping him. IF we get a top striker in today, then fine I won't worry about that. It's a big IF though.

  14. Well, we'll soon find out if Carroll has it in him to be considered a decent EPL player. He'll be one of the first names on Big Sam's team sheet each and every week. Plus, Big Sam will make Carroll the target man, with nearly every single ball being given to him.

If Carroll cannot make a name for himself at the Spanners, he'll never make a name for himself in the EPL.

I'm convinced that Carroll will do well at WEst ham, hope I'm wrong. My guess is that the people calling him donkey now will be left with candy floss on their faces <cracker>

Allardyce will absolutely love having Carroll in his side.
He'll become another Kevin Davies now and we all know what he used to do to teams like ours.

Exactly PNP, people writing Carroll off and calling him silly names are the ones going to look silly I reckon.

Hmm, donkey eh - looking like a pretty silly name now.

As I said I wish we'd have got Carroll in.

Just highlights how ineffective Dalglish's tactics were last season, for me.
He had plenty of players in his squad that suited Carroll's style of play and either didn't use them or used them incorrectly.
Rather than having Downing either on the right or the bench, he should've been delivering the crosses that the former Geordie would've thrived on.

Suarez or Bellamy playing off him and offering a completely different option for the midfield, Kuyt putting in the work down the right, rather than rotting on the sidelines...
Could've been a far better season for them, I think.

  20. Fulham are playing badly, though. I'd like to think that any side with top 4 aspirations would know how to deal with Carroll. It's not as if Fulham didn't know how the Spanners were going to play with him, is it!

And would you want Spurs to be playing the type of football we'd have to play in order to accommodate Carroll? I certainly would not. We all criticised Redknapp when persisted with Crouch and hoof-ball tactics. That's exactly how it would have to be if we had Carroll in the side, and that is not a style of football that AVB likes to play, or we Spurs fans like to see.
