As you say the clause usually just involves any profit made (unlikely in this case lol) but rumours have suggested a set amount regardless which is why i was wondering if anyone knew of any truth in it. Suppose 'Arry is probably the best one to ask.

Firstly, man why you creating so many threads for the same topic of discussion.

Ok...Here's my take on this: If Andy Carroll were to eventually leave for West Ham or back to us, wouldn't it look bad on him? Also, if he did come back to us, he'll be eternally boo-ed by the Liverpool fans and branded "never tried to play for them". Even he himself probably wants to convince everyone else that he's a 35million pound striker worth his weight(of course reality is probably far off for sure) And knowing how tight the Newcastle board are with spending at the moment, a deal is not even 50% confirmed as many above have said, he won't want to burn his bridges if he stays...

In the end, I think the situation looks ugly. Liverpool wants him to go to West Ham, player doesn't , wants to come to Newcastle who won't pay them as much..

If there really was a sell-on clause..... you gotta take your hat off. These bloody MikeAshley and his henchmen ripped Liverpool off big time. Wait, I think big's not a big enough word...

    1. Let it be known the player is not wanted by the club

    2. Alienate the player

    3. Announce that you need to sell in order to buy

    4. Announce that you're desparate to buy.

There. Saves you the time of reading the whole thing

From ym knowledge there are three types of sell-on-clauses. There's the profit clause (explained above), the percentage clause (25% of any fee etc, what Jarvis had with Wolves and Gillingham) and cash clause, where a club gets a certain amount if he is sold.

Its fairly well known there is a clause, but not which one it is.

(Quick FM check, it has it as 15% sell-on, not percentage, usually pretty reliable I find!)

We'd be doing every football fan in the league a public service by signing him, thus stopping him going to West Ham, and have to make every team they play endure even more of that tripe fat Sam describes as a tactic.

    On BBC site too.

I don't get it (if it turns out to be true).

June 2012: 'No, no we will not consider a loan deal for Andy Carroll'.

August 2012: 'You want Carroll on loan? Great, have him'.

16.48 BST Sam Allardyce on Andy Carroll probably not coming to West Ham: "Our problem is I have since moved on financially. When I first went for Andy Carroll I could afford him, whether I could now is a different matter. At the very best I think one player will be joining us before the deadline tomorrow."

So....even Fat Sam is playing mind games with Liverpool now

FFS Andy what are you playing at? When it comes the West Ham, the phrase is 'just say no!'.
