Stupid question, but where exactly does Clint play? I always thought he was a midfielder but have seen people say he plays upfront?
I reckon he prefers Liverpool if I am honest but they don't have any money and need to sell some deadwood to fund it. I also reckon this deal has been burning for a few days and Mon has given the player time to think it over. He probably wanted to give Liverpool the chance to move but we need an answer today, hence the personal visit by our boss. If it comes off, its a fantastic deal for us and he joins a club with huge potential and ambition, who is showing that with actions now.
I'm still not convinced this will happen, I reckon it may be Defoe who we get, if anyone from London. Either way, that's all have a disco!

dont want to be the bearer of bad news, but reading the SMB Pure Football, apparently Jol was quoted at press conference as saying Dempsey wants to go to Champions League club, that Sunderland are one of several clubs interested but he felt Dempsey coming to us was unlikely. SMB members think the SSN announcement might be to get L/pool off their arses and put a bid in. Hope Marty has got as much Irish charm as Quinny and persuades him!
It doesn't really say the deal is on, or that Richardson is part of a swap deal for Dempsey, it just says Jol has revealed we are in the race. But I'm still excited!!! This could be the start of something amazing!!!!
It is a sign of our intent and (I think) a measure of our new standing that Jol is prepared to refer to us being in the race to sign him, along with European competition standard clubs. x
As a Liverpool fan I am absolutley delighted, not what we need at all, will be a good signing for someone else. We need to priorotise a CF. Good luck for the season!
You need a bloody miracle to stop yet becoming a below mid table club. Rogers is a plum mate. KK has knackered your finances. Should have stuck with Woy. Dempsey would be a great signing for Liverpool or Sunderland mate and denying it makes you sound foolish.

I do not think the Dempsey deal is on for us, I would love it but I cannot see it. I would love to be proved wrong but too many sources say no.
All that happened was Jol stated we were interested in Dempsey, didn't mention anything about being in talks or putting a bid. Sounds like a quote to get Liverpool to come forward and put an offer forward to me.
