under Harry, we had 4 Croatians at one point. Now we (nearly) have none.

I'd rather have four Germans or Spanish or even Portugese, not forgetting Brazilians, Italians; in fact who needs Croatians!

Brazilians at Spurs are normally a bit **** aren't they?

I say we buy Dembele and a few more Belgians for our new army.

All four were good players, but all seemed to leave under various different clouds.
Pletikosa didn't get a chance, Corluka gave up after losing his place and had some personal problems, Kranjcar acted like a twat on his way out and Modric was totally unprofessional.

If we could pick up some more young players of similar ability, a number of which we've been linked with in the past, then I'd be perfectly happy.
We just need to keep an eye on who their agents are and make sure that they're not allowed to rot in the reserves.

We've got Gomelt in the youth team!

Anyway, of the Croats in our squad last season, Kranjcar was the only one Harry signed.

I remember when our team was filled with African, French and Portuguese players but now we seem to have gone done the Brazilian, Spanish and Belgian root.

    Change isn't always a bad thing <ok>

They used to say football was a simple game. Now we need an encyclopedia to understand what these manager/coach people are talking about.

Remember Eddie Baily?Working under Bill he would tell his players " were in the trenches.time to go over the top....."....and they went.....and they succeeded!!!!

The most fundamental difference between Harry and AVB is....

    Harry is a good manager.

I'm quite liking the new Belgiam revolution though, Verts looked good on his debut, misjudged a ball coming in from a punt in WBA's half which allowed their striker a run at goal in the first half but apart from that, steady performance and unlucky not to grab a goal. Dembele as we all know has great skill and good vision, not like-for-like but a good replacement for Luka in my opinion. It's amazing how their team never got into the Euro's when you think about it:

Alderwierd (sp?), Kompany, Vermaelen, Vertonghen, Fellaini, Dembele, Hazard, Mertens, Chadli, Lukaku, Miralles... On paper, a team with them sort of players should be reaching the quarters/ semis of the tournament.

The difference is Arry has learnt whereas AVB is still learning and has a lot to learn. Arry was established so he had the right to shout his gob off,AVB does not.

Harry learned...with the following exceptions: squad rotation, keeping his gob shut, not unsettling the squad by whoring himself to the England job, teams need to practice set pieces in training, short-term signings might be good teams in the lower half of the table but not for those chasing a Champions League spot.

Hasn't Arsenal been playing a team of mainly French and African players for a number of years now? Change isn't a bad thing ;)

My biggest problem with Redknapp was that he didn't learn, actually.
    Down to his age, perhaps?

The biggest difference for me is while Harry was an annoying twitchy faced moron he knew what he was doing and he was good in the transfer market and he was a good man manager. I dont know why he got sacked, maybe he got caught skimming the profits like he was doing at Pompey. As for AVB he is a compete a clown and you would be better of with Glen Hoddle or Christian Gross back.

1.) Seriously, stop it with the "twitchy-faced" comments, they make you sound like a complete prick.
2.) He didn't know what he was doing in the transfer market. Bringing in Nelsen and Saha instead of long-term options is the move of a lower-table manager.
3.) His man management was lacking - ask Bassong, Pavluychenko, Kranjcar, Pienaar, Dos Santos or any other player he froze out (his man management was also notably lacking at Southampton)
4.) Saying we'd be better off with Hoddle or Gross? See #1.
